MUSKEGON COUNTY, MI They left for what they thought would be an easy float down Muskegon River Tuesday afternoon but ended up spending the night on the river bank, scared and yelling for help.
The trio of young women were rescued 20 hours later after a fisherman eventually heard their cries, said Muskegon Township Deputy Fire Chief Bob Grabinski.
The women, all in their 20s, had never been tubing before and decided it would be a fun thing to do, Grabinski said. So they bought some tubes and headed to the popular launch site at the Maple Island Road bridge, Grabinski said.
"They were informed by somebody at the bridge that the river goes in a circle and if they put in there they would come back to their car," he said. "Not knowing anything, they set off on their little adventure."

I understand their uncle is Hank Johnson from Georgia
Not hardly. Check the pics at the link.

“Not knowing anything...”
Now, THAT is accurate reporting.
You know, they had the guts to try something they never had tried before.
I admire that.
They got out of their comfort zone.
Good for them. They had an adventure.
Put your phone in a new ziplock bag. You can still see the screen, work the touch screen, and take pix. If you are going to the beach, the pool, or simply want to soak in the bathtub (me), phone in a ziplock is the answer.
Not just gullibility, but stupidity as well. Just a few seconds of logical thought should tell anyone there is no way a river could run in a circle.
Obamaphones ran out before they got theirs.
I told an outrageous lie to a mate in the Navy.
He came back later and asked how I was able to do that.
Do what, I asked. He said he didn’t think it was possible to look someone in the eyes and lie to them. I like to think I created a cynic that day.
I thought they only did that in West Virginia.
I just made a similar comment to my husband. This is something taught by the third grade or should be. Of course, if the child doesn’t want to learn, you can’t force them.
Guess they’d have figured it out when they finally came
out in the ocean.
Talk about stupid, wow. Good job there public education.
My daughter read The Bell Curve when she was 14. For fun. I encouraged her.
It empressed some smart people. She won a full bore National Merit Scholarship.
(A father has a right to brag...)
Does this mean they’re having their tubes tied?
This is more common than you think. Mom and Dad were at Yellowstone, a few years back. Idiot tourists in the car behind them, sent their kids out of the car to pose for pictures next to the "Cute Little Baby Buffalo".
Dad grabbed the kids (little kids, 5-6 years old or so) and got them into his car, before Mama Buffalo stomped them flat. Dad's a pretty level-headed guy, not prone to theatrics, and he said "it was a pretty close call".
People are Idiots.
Escher River - LOL!
When you have an IQ of 75 that is considered mentally disabled.
yes, you can.
