In session now, being shown live.
Right now they're debating whether or not to have a registered Parliamentarian at all meetings. Since I'm unaware of who is who, I can't tell if this is being pushed by the Anti/Never Trumpers or the pro-Trump delegates.
Well, while i was typing the above, they chaired that motion and have moved on.
Someone from Fox this morning said to watch Mike Lee and his wife to try and figure out what the NeverTrumpers are doing.
ha ha, Soiled Diaper Brigade as the #NeverTrumpers, I love that!
Recessed for 30 minutes for an early supper. They will work “well into the night” because they’re behind.
“Ha Ha! Cruz loses again!”
just getting on what happened?
What did I miss?
If they fail, I can’t wait to check out the Never Trump brigade on Twitter.
They have.
Yeah, that was something the anti-Trump and the anti-establishment *should* have agreed on so assume that’s all the votes they have.
Should have made a deal with Reince for what they could get. Just wasting time now and making enemies (like those who have friends visiting).
Summary call-in from Zeke Miller (TimeMag) on CSPAN3:
Rinse Preibus/RNC used a “printer issue” as a ruse while he and others (anti-trumpets) hashed out and tried to reach some kind of compromise this morning. No agreements were reached, thus this is why the Rules Committee came back from their long lunch break and promptly began hashing out each and every rule, point by point. (the boring Robert’s Rules discussion we’ve been watching here).
Key players in the negotiations/”printer error” 4-hour talks this morning:
Preibus
Cuccinelli (sp?)
Morton Blackwell
Kendal Unruh
Mike Lee (Zeke Miller didn’t mention him specifically, but I presume he was there).
(I missed some other names; Zeke was talking fast)
The proposed provisions by anti-trumpers during this 4-hour meeting would have weakened the RNC. The talks broke down when they couldn’t reach agreement.
Implications: Now the anti-trump delegates won’t be able to ?? on the floor of the convention and Trump’s nomination would be 100% secure.
Back in the Rules Committee meeting, Rule 12 (”Ben Ginsberg’s Rule”) has been the only key vote so far taken today and it failed miserably. (end of Zeke’s summary)
(Incidentally, callers to CSPAN right now seem to be pro-Trump 2 to 1 and are against this anti-Trump movement to dump Trump.)
<< If they fail, I cant wait to check out the Never Trump brigade on Twitter. >>
lol. You mean the “Soiled Diaper Brigade,” as someone up the thread stated?
There are two Committees meeting in Cleveland. One is the Rules committee that meets
every quarter. The other is the Convention Rules committee that will bring a package
before the convention for adoption as to how the convention will be governed.
Thank you for that update.
Are they currently in recess? Not getting anything right now from link.
<< I do believe that Cruz could smash this with an endorsement of Trump and/or encouraging these people to follow the rules agreed to when becoming a delegate. >>
Yes, he could. But he WON’T because “sumpin’ ain’t RIGHT wid dat boy. He tetched in the hayed!”
That is a good link. Thank you!
How about, “Summer Snowflake Gang”. After all, it looks like they are starting to melt...
Yes, that did pretty much take the wind out of their sails, didn't it?
Manafort knows what he's doing.
Hardball! I wonder at what point this morning after that leak did the NeverTrumpers realize they'd been played?
Best election in my lifetime.
“sumpin’ ain’t right about him! spot on
Witch Unruh and her #1 flying monkey, Curly?
I love it!
