Dallas police officer Nick Novello, 62, accused his police chief David Brown of failing the public The 34-year veteran with the force claims Brown is at the helm of a police team low on morale and over worked with insufficient pay He said the police chief was guilty of 'grandstanding' in his public appeal to hire more young black men to his force He claimed that the Dallas Police Department had been plunged into an all time low with many disillusioned officers serving the public He said much of the black community in Dallas distrusts the police force Novello said many had been wrongly arrested for small amounts of marijuana or public intoxication to help fulfill arrest 'quotas' He added that police chief Brown had defied calls from four police associations in Dallas to resign last spring

Why now? Why does he speak only now? Obamalaw is why.
It’ll be interesting to see where this goes. Arrest quotas should never be tolerated. If more officers substantiate this guy’s claims, then an overhaul of that dept. is in order.
They had mass resignations from Dallas PD just last month. Nearly 50 of them in one month!
That tells the real story.
He has no effin shame
A political speech
The cop is criticizing the chief from the left, it appears. Kind of odd.
Wait wait wait: those things are illegal. Getting arrested for those things should not come as a surprise.
So, is Novello saying the arrestees are innocent, or just that it is not fair that they were arrested for their crimes?
I do not want public intoxication, nor do I want to me and my family to have to walk through plumes of pot smoke, and I say that as a person who loves pot.

This guy may have some valid points, but the fact that he brings it up before his fellow officers are laid to rest makes me doubt his motives.
I couldn’t agree with you more. The longer I listen to this ass, the more angry I get.
If I were present and in uniform, I would walk out.
Nope. Dallas Police unions have been at odds with Chief Brown for a while. This isn’t new.
However, it would be classier to keep opinions to himself this week.
FWIW, crime stats are considerably lower now than when Brown took the job, despite an increase in murders over the past year. Criticism is par for the course. It’s a hot seat.
Amen.
And now we have the obligatory black choir singing the Battle Hymn of the Republic. What does that have to do with white cops being shot?
That is what I suspected all along. This man has the knowledge and deserves accolades. All of this “community dialog “ crap is BS. Police aren’t being paid to go shoot basket balls with “Yutts” Or have dialogue. They need to do their sworn duty to uphold the law or go get hired to do social work. This is very dangerous to them and to the citizens to be goody two shoes and not do what they are paid to do. People need to obey the law or go to the justice system for due process and proper punishment. I don’t like police profiling Blacks to go make sycophantic phony friends with them. This police chief should have anticipated this ambush and protected his officers. . It was his responsibility— not grandstanding on TV. I’m glad I don’t live in Dallas .
He ran down to that gay nightclub in florida fast enough.
Up from...
whatever.
Point is, all the attempts in the world at "dialogue" aren't going to stop a person hell-bent on being a gangster/criminal and the destruction of life.
