Retired Army Gen. Stanley McChrystal is among those being considered as a possible vice president pick for presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump, sources tell ABC News, the second retired general on the New York businessman's growing list of potential running mates.
McChrystal retired from the military in 2010 after being relieved of his position as the top commander in Afghanistan by President Obama following a controversial interview he held with Rolling Stone magazine.

Gingrich would make a better Chief of Staff.
I like Cotton for VP.
The man is impressive
Does that include retired Generals Odierno and Mattis?
Why not pick a retired Sgt Maj? The older ones are more likely to speak their minds.
theres not a single thing in this article other than complete speculation which would lend credence to the title...
McChrystal? Dear God no. Another of our modern pussified generals. I’ll say no thanks to the childlike life of a military base for all Americans.
And he is another of those NWO tyoes.
We haven’t had a general that was worth a damn since Norman Schwarzkopf.
I would like to see Guiliani as Homeland security head, and Gen Flynn as Sect of Defense.,and Gingich as VP.
I would want no part of Gen McChrystal.
He doesn't seem to grasp the basics of Islam. - Tom
I agree that he’ll select Gingrich. Great speaker, intelligent, accomplished and knows the halls of Congress better than anyone else.
do not want..
On his ‘growing list’?????
I thought the newsies had it down to only 3 potentials remaining, as of last week.
LOL
Keep’em guessin’, Donald.
Oh Mattison. He’s the guy who talks really tough, and then prosecutes men who do the tough things he says. Folder under political pressure so he’s a pussy.
Unless Sgt wutetich signs his petition I’ll flip hon the finger. But he says a lot of cool things!
My boilerplate view on Trumps approach to his VP...
The FIRST issue in Trump choosing his VP isnt WHO but WHAT.
WHAT is the single most important criteria for Trumps VP? Someone who can take over the Presidency in eight years to continue the job of reinstating political freedom and the Constitution as the Rule of law in America.
Trumps VP must be a person who in eights years, is ready, willing, and able to lead the effort to dismantle the unconstitutional 80% of the $4 trillion central government, leaving it the size of about $800 billion. Get rid of most of the unconstitutional cabinet bureaucracies. Nuke the utterly unconstitutional Administrative State from which all these unilateral, tyrannical, unconstitutional, and obnoxious executive laws (regulations) come from. Send hundreds of thousands of government workers, bureaucratic heads, and officials home packing. Sad day for them, but a great day for America and our Free Constitutional Republic.
Otherwise, this Trump Movement will be merely a speed bump on the Road to Serfdom as Hayek put it and as the Reagan Revolution turned out to be because of the short-sighted and fatal choice of Bush as VP. Trump CANNOT make the same mistake.
WHO it is should be IMO, consistent with the anti-establishment push of this movement. Trump should pick an unknown - a talented, wise, and wealthy non-politician who loves America, probably a good businessman, who has a fire in his belly to do away with political correctness and tyranny and to put the central government into its constitutional cage. Hell have eight years to figure out what he needs to know about the job. Also, a wealthy person, like Washington, Reagan, and Trump, would be less tempted to cash in on political expediency because he is already wealthy. IMO politicians like Newt and Sessions are too old among other things to do what needs to be done eight years from now. Will Pence be ready, willing, and able to continue in 2024 what Trump started and gut D.C. of the unconstitutional cancer growing there? If not, hes not the guy.
If Newt or someone else is strategically necessary to implement Trumps plans though Congress now, then in four years or so, there should be a VP change to this essential, more far-sighted purpose.
I like Jerry Boykin.
Boykin is ok. I’ll let him in my list.
No thanks.
Cmon Trump, surprise US.
Wisconsin Sheriff Dave Clarke should be in Trump’s administration, along with Rudy G.
Trump-Santorum makes more sense than all of these ideas floated. For Pence to give up the governorship would make him the (un)popular Geraldine Ferraro Zaccaro of 2016.
McChrystal’s brother is as fine a conservative, Pentecostal Christian as you’ll find anyplace in the United States. A retired Army Chaplain, Scott McChrystal, was the division chaplain for 1st Armored Division during the Bosnia/Kosovo era. His faith in his Lord is solid and real.
His brother was, I believe, commander of the Ranger Regiment at the time. Stan McChrystal is a solid commander, a knowledgeable commander, and a tough commander.
Memory says that he claimed affinity for the democrat party at one point, and that he identified himself with their positions on pro-choice.
My guess is that his chaplain brother Scott threw up his hands in anguish at those words.
It also makes me wonder if Stan might be a stealth conservative given his family background.
Isn’t this McChrystal a democrat?
So...we’d have 2 sets of democrats running. How special.
