Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich tells Breitbart News that he would consider being Republican candidate Donald Trumps running mate in Novembers general election. Asked if Trump has asked him to be running mate, Gingrich said, No.
Asked if he would consider being running mate, Gingrich said, Yes. But, I think he has to make that decision.
It is the most extraordinary campaign of its time, the former speaker added. Hes come out of nowhere and defeated 16 other candidates.
If he catches fire he could be much like Reagan in 1980, Gingrich said, noting that Trump could match those record numbers if this thing continues to evolve and people learn how dishonest and unserious Hillary Clinton is.
In conversation, Gingrich habitually rattles off ballot statistics for small nationalistic parties in other parts of the world, from Austria, where the election is so close theyre going to have to re-run it because the establishment stole about 60,000 votes. The two parties that had run the country came in fourth and fifth, to Rome, where Virginia Raggi won the mayoral election heading the populist Five Star Movement. To Great Britain.
The British people heard from the establishment unanimously opposing it and the people just ignored them and rolled over it, he said before he started talking about the election of a schoolteacher in Iceland.

Newt Gingrich: ‘If you are a normal white American ... you dont understand being black in America’
I hope not
“Oh puhhhleaaase lets not go on pretending that ol Donnie espouses the ultimate virtue of conservatism”
He’s done it a hell of a lot better than 99% of the people folks here have assumed were far better.
“Conservatives” need to get that smug stick out of their ass and learn to actually win first before they sit and toss peanuts at others.
So I take it you, unlike the rest of us non-Blacks, fully understand the “black experience?” If you do, I'd like to see you put up a thoughtful treatise on the subject!
“As a previous poster pointed it he is extremely well spoken verbally something Trump is in dire need of. He knows the landscape can debate with the best of them and knows Washington inside and out. Once onboard I bet he is as loyal to Trump as they come”
He can get off on a unsolicited tangent at times, but that can be ironed out.
Trump's closest advisers and partners should not be, or become, syncophants. Rather, they should be men/women whose pursuits of knowledge, understanding of human nature, and experience in leadership will supplement his own.
Further, they should be persons who have cared enough about the history of America, and of its unique role in expanding individual liberty, that they have studied the history of civilization and can appreciate why some have described America as "exceptionable."
Such persons would not, then, serve as an "echo chamber" for him, but, with honesty and courage, keep him, should he ever be inclined to do so, from going abroad and presenting the image of America that the current president has and does.
I’d be ok with Trump/Paul. Experienced senator: check, relatively anti-establishment semi-libertarian: check, won’t upstage the main guy: check. Plus a lot of it is name recognition, and many LIV would get him confused with his dad. I still see Ron Paul bumper stickers around town. Many Bernie supporters (especially those whose priorities center around smoking weed) would flock to the Trump/Paul ticket.
That's a fact, yet several Freepers desperately cling to the Gingrich of 94 who no longer exists.
He's been compromised. That is a fact. Beltway insider. Fact.
The proof has been previously posted on FR over the last 18 years, yet people like you seem to think that he's still the "Conservative Savior" Gingrich of 94.
Picking Gingrich is too conventional a move and since when has Trump done anything conventional in this campaign? Trump keeps his political moves so tightly controlled to have a loose cannon like Newt go out to the media and announce his interest to being VP day after day. Trump himself is scripting all of this with Newt’s assistance.
“Newt only needs to learn to stay on Trumps page, and stop being ADD.”
Maybe Donald and Newt could work on this together.
Trump loves winners.
His mouth will get ahead of his brain, IMHO.
Newt Gingrich slammed ‘Fox & Friends’ for giving Donald Trump a massive platform

Newt, No! Santorum, yes! He couldn’t yield to Santorum in 2012, and we got Mittens. Now it’s “Rick’s turn”.
Robert Costa has an article out today saying General Flynn may an the inside track. He is described as outspoken and brash—sound familiar!! Apparently, he was forced out by Obama and I checked Wikipedia and it says his party affiliation is democrat!! Crossover appeal, perhaps???
BTW, Hunter had been my first choice until he recently complained about growing tired of having to explain/defend Trump.
Newt would be better suited for Chief of Staff.
Not that it really matters, but I am a black person.
However, I’ve seen too many minorities attempt use this factor of the unknowable in order to get a permanent pass on their behavior and a veneer of rationality to any and all means they consider necessary. Too many minorities use the factor of what cannot be known as a way to shut down any opposing speech. I was disappointed to see Newt fall or verily leap into that rhetorical trap so quickly.
Who would not vote for Trump if he chooses Gingrich as VP?
I don't think you've thought that one through.
Do not expect Trump to try to sweeten his ticket. Expect him to choose somebody that will help him change the game.
Aggressively.
Self-correction: The Washington Post story by Costa speculates that General Flynn may have the inside track—although he is a registered democrat.
Other Freepers beat me to this, but just wanted to verify his party affiliation.
Who would not vote for Trump because he picked Newt for VP?
