Ailes has the security of long-accumulated power, position, money, smarts, influence and the best lawyers in the world.

Looks to me like he'll fight Gretchen tooth and nail in court...and he won't pre-settle right now because he would have done it prior to the filing of the suit and the public airing of same.

At his age and with his pile of dough, he'll be fighting for his name, nothing else. She's going to have an uphill battle...I DO admire her guts.

The DirecTV guide still shows her show with her name on it, but she’s been replaced with “The Boob Monster” (aka Kimberly Guilfoyle).

Kimberly is one of the few good things to come out of San Francisco in the last 50 years.

I for one wouldn't mind seeing more of Kimberly but who will replace her in "THE LEG CHAIR" on The Five?.

It sounds like it was as much about hatred and Roger throwing his weight around than about sex.

In other words, as much about abuse or harassment pure and simple as about sexual abuse or harassment.

You can see some of that in Gretchen's feud -- or whatever it was -- with Miss America judge William Goldman, who really couldn't stand her and went public with it in a book.

True, it can be hard to separate out the gender aspect, but I can't say whether Ailes really wanted sex or just didn't like Carlson and had the power to give her a hard time about it.

Carlson, the former host of a daytime show at Fox, alleged a pattern of discriminatory behavior at Fox. She says she was fired in June. She says that happened nine months after Ailes told her that “you and I should have had a sexual relationship a long time ago.” The 50-year-old Carlson was Miss America in 1989. She spent 11 years at Fox.
