MEMPHIS, Tenn. --- Bloodied and bruised Hannah Cohen was led from Memphis International Airport in handcuffs.
The 19-year old was headed home to Chattanooga after treatment for a brain tumor at St. Jude Hospital June 30, 2015.
It's a trip they've made for 17 years.
This time, an unarmed Hannah, set off the metal detector at a security checkpoint
They wanted to do further scanning, she was reluctant, she didn't understand what they were about to do," said her mother Shirley Cohen.
Cohen told us she tried to tell TSA agents her daughter is partially deaf, blind in one eye, paralyzed, and easily confused, but said she was kept at a distance by police.
She's trying to get away from them but in the next instant, one of them had her down on the ground and hit her head on the floor. There was blood everywhere, said Cohen.

Most likely it was a Memphis cop, not a TSA screener. TSA has no LEO power, and is why you always see local cops at the screening station.
They say she was arrested, that can only be done by a cop, not TSA.
She is a patient of St. Jude's and Eric Trump does a lot of fund raising for them, along with Dr. Ben Carson...making the connection yet?
Yep you got it..heads will more than roll plus this girl will probably get free medical sponsored by the Trump Foundation...
Trump has provided his own private craft before to help people with critical health related transportation needs too... maybe private aviation doesn’t have to go through this.
This would be a chance to make a high profile statement that would mean something.
Instead of treating every white Christian like he/she was a jihadist Muslim or collaborator, how about shutting the latter out of the US?
Good, it needs to be retweeted till everyone and their aunt and uncle hears.
They’re only asking for $100.000. They should demand $100 trillion.
Though you know what... they’ll probably just blame “that stupid Tennessee cop.” Ohhhhh... they’re above it all, they can’t possibly influence what happens there... sorry, say go sic em tiger, you’re responsible too. If you will not do good, you do evil.
Let the airlines hear about this. They are the ones wanting the business.
First time I actually wish I could have jury duty.
that’s only four. we’ve done much better than that.
I would pay to be on that jury.
That’s kind of a crude way of doing it, by putting up multiple articles — that isolates the discussions. Could it go up on a hot list somehow?
>>I take the train or drive, even if it takes two days to get there.<<
Hawaii is a bit of a problem, tho. Or Europe. Or Asia. Or anything further away than about 1,000 miles (2 long days drive).
Man, you let the government put you in a heck of a cage. I don’t let it confine me, but that is just me I suppose.
>>They say she was arrested, that can only be done by a cop, not TSA.<<
Never let facts get in the way of a good story line. Indignation is a lot more fun.
Yes, a muzzie could walk through, with AK-47s slung over his shoulders, and no one would bat an eye.
I want the fascists put in jail and all their assets sent to st Jude’s.
The point is to light a fire of concern.
I suppose one could take a cruise ship to a place like Hawaii, though that eats up quite a bit of time.
Choose what you believe is best given the reasons you have to do what you do.
It used to be that people cared about their fellowman more.
Who turned it over to that cop? There were saner ways to manage this. They weren’t listening to the parents, they pushed them away and isolated the girl, they exacerbated the situation and escalated it.
Cohen... A Hebrew name if I am correct. Of the priestly tribe.

This isn’t a care issue. It is a silliness issue. The TSA is 99% OK, given what it is. It should never have been created for sure and it sure is dopey but it is a necessary evil. They HAVE responded to public outrage, just slowly.
The Trusted Traveler took a while but is in place. There are kiosks for entry in every major airport to speed up Border checks. The naked-o-vision is gone and soon drinks will be allowed again.
I am no huge fan of the TSA but I don’t see it as the pure evil many here see. I have interacted with the TSA well over a thousand times and other than the fact they see to know nothing about queuing, line management and crush-time staffing, I have not had any problems with them nor seen anything untoward.
Yes, they operate on autopilot, scanning grannies and kids and sometimes I read about idiots who go too far (again, I have never seen it), but that is because they are typical government drones.
So, having a personal tantrum for something you will probably encounter for a few minutes (I mean the officers, not the lines) seems to be counterproductive.
