A slot at the GOP convention used to be a career-maker a chance to make your name on the big stage and to catch the eye of the Republican donors and activists who make or break campaigns.
In the year of Trump: Not so much.
With the convention less than a month away, POLITICO contacted more than 50 prominent governors, senators, and House members to gauge their interest in speaking. Only a few said they were open to it and everyone else said they either werent planning on it, didnt want to, werent going to Cleveland at all, or simply didnt respond.

These GOP leadership-types were too kind.
When they announced that they were POLITICO, I would have told them to find a dark hole and put their head in it.

So they called a bunch of people and reached their own conclusion and that’s all there is. We call it a $3 bill.

Upchuck, why do you even post Politico.....
....do they represent your sentiments?
Trump won’t let them in his pressers or hotel....and with good reason.
Why post their junk?

They will be standing in line on Jan. 21 begging for a chance to kiss Donald’s nether regions and tell him how they really, really really always supported him.

So they called up 50 random GOP (who I am sure were anxious to speak to ‘Politico’) and asked them if they were going to go, and from this they determine “no one” wants to speak there?

Corporate Crony-Democrat media is wide-open this morning slamming Trump and crowing over Hillary’s “widening lead” in the polls.

Seems to me that this helps Trump’s image as an outsider, which could attract some of that 10% independent vote.
