Cruz can’t be a liar...every time I saw him on tv during his campaign, he was praying with someone.

Likely, more than likely, he’s going to win it and the rest is all Kabuki theater.

Was in reply to someone who said: It was an interview. I doubt he volunteered this in a vacuum. In fact, the story reads as though he was asked what he would do (if he had the power). Kind of like, “If you rubbed a lamp and a genie appeared, what wishes would you make?”

Since Trump is self funding his campaign, he can do whatever he wants.

Well, and also we consider the encounter Jesus had with Satan in the wilderness where He was offered the kingdoms of the world, but He’d have to bow down to that devil.
Of course this was going to presage the battles that Christians were to have in the world, and Jesus said nix to it, just as we must learn to say nix when the world tries to bribe us into thinking its way.

Why would anyone with scruples want to partner with a liar?

The story says he cant really do this.
As presumptive nominee, he sure can do it, because that also makes him presumptive head of the Party.
The Romney/Cruz factions can scream and shout and jump up and down all they want, but for all intents and purposes, Trump now runs the Party. They either play nice or find themselves at the bottom of the barrel -- and that includes future money for their own campaigns, etc.
It is time for the sour-grapes faction to shape up or sit this out until 2020.

I suspect that the RNC would like them to raise money for the RNC this year. I don't think that they are running for anything.
Probably, the best thing is to ignore them. Trump should not want to publicize their failures to endorse. Trump should have no trouble winning Texas, but he might need Kasich's help in Ohio.

maybe... this being the new york times they would not be rolling him out a red carpet anyhow, unless they planned somehow to yank it out from under him.

Since Cruz never had a real job, he lives in a world of make-believe. His judgement sucks because he has no ethical compass.

What is a presumptive nominee and why would he not be the nominee? He received far more than the required votes for first ballot...”

I wouldn’t trust what they’ll say. He should just hold up the signed pledge sheets, read off their names and thank them for their unwavering support.
To: TomGuy
The Trump phenomenon has bruised a lot of egos. The Republican game just wasn’t supposed to work like this. This upstart just kind of walked up to the GOP and walked off with it and it just isn’t fair! (Said sardonically)
But what COULD a Trump do at this point in time. The Democrats would be a dead letter. He’d have to promise them his firstborn and there are things that even a New York City wheeler and dealer won’t do.
