Staffers at CNN are "livid" that the cable network has hired Corey Lewandowski as an exclusive commentator after Donald Trump fired him from his campaign manager job earlier this week.
"CNN is facing a near internal revolt over the Corey hiring," a source told The New York Post's Page Six. "Female reporters and producers especially.
"They are organizing and considering publicly demanding" that Lewandowski be relieved, the source said.
Jeff Zucker, CNN's president, quickly snapped up Lewandowski after Trump dismissed him on Monday.
The presumptive Republican nominee had reacted to an ultimatum by Ivanka Trump in light of the Michelle Fields debacle in Florida in March and a Page Six report last month that Lewandowski had gotten into a shouting match on the street in Manhattan with campaign spokeswoman Hope Hicks.
But not only are women furious at the hiring, Page Six reports.
"Latinos and others in the newsroom feel betrayed by an homage to Trump," the source said, so "they may do a public letter" in opposition.
"Everyone at CNN and even people who used to work there are pissed about Trumps former campaign manager being hired on salary," another source told Page Six.
In his first on-air interview, also on Thursday, host Erin Burnett grilled Lewandowski on whether he had signed an agreement barring him from making disparaging comments about Trump, his family or his companies.
Burnett even read from a document she said had been obtained by CNN in her questioning.
Lewandowski, 42, declined to say whether he had signed such an agreement and instead had only praise for Trump.
"I feel honored to have been part of changing the American political system for the rest of our lives and hopefully so much further," he said.

watched it and she was dying to get a response SHE needed and wanted. Not the truth.
Never happened
And Ashley Banfield, Chris Cuomo, Alison Camerota, Erin Burnett, Wolf Blitzed, and on and on ...
I hope they are all distracted and distressed by this.
Lewandowsky is still on Trump’s payroll...and serving as a claymore mine at CNN.
It’s working.
The CNN staff is revolting ... we knew this for years.
MSLSD too!
Everyone are...or...Everyone is? Which is correct grammatically?
Damn..... a cowboy english teacher with a red pencil

Women don't get hard news, they don't want to do hard news (see Lara Logan) -- they want to be sent a car and spend an hour in green room getting makeup.
Suppose this whole Lewandowski exit (Lexist, haha) and infiltration of CNN was orchestrated by the Trump Campaign for the purpose of getting an agent on the inside of the MSM? (Fantasy intrigue).
Thanks for the link, Corey did good. Erin Burnett is the only anchor at CNN I can stand to watch. She’s no fan of Trump for sure but at least she conducts a fair interview and doesn’t disrepect her quests or her audience. Good job to both.
Buncha ‘splodey heads.
This interview is fantastic. I’m convinced Lewandowski is a Trump team plant into the heart of the enemy beast.
Remove the hyphens and then answer your own question.
Good business decision by CNN. It has nothing to do with supporting or not supporting Trump. CNN knows that this guy has inside info and insights on the Trump campaign and that’s why they grabbed him. Just business. It does expose all the CNN partisans. :-)
:)
yes I hope they all have meltdowns, on and off the air
it would be great fun to watch the Clinton News Network implode
p.s. I have an acquaintance from college days who is a CNN icon behind the scenes.... a real leftist POS. I hope he and his friends are starting the CNN revolution, heh heh... I’ll try to find out more. They never question anything that suits their interests and view of the world. Diversity, my a##
What does CNN hope to get from Lewandowski? He’s made it clear that anything said or heard in confidence while he was a member of the campaign will remain in confidence, so no smoking gun or dirty laundry. He’s not going to suddenly slam Trump or criticize him or turn against him. Other than the publicity of saying they hired him I don’t see what they stand to gain by having him on their shows.
... during the term of your service and at all times thereafter, you hereby promise and agree not to demean or disparage publicly the company Mr. Trump, any Trump company, any family member or any family member company. Did you sign something like that? That said no disparaging?
So, what Burnett expects is that "demeaning" and "disparagement" be used. That "demeaning" and "disparagement" are legitimate approaches for public commentators.
There may be substantial overlap between "disparage" and "critical," I'm sure one man's criticism is another's disparagement (see ThinkProgress: CNN's Newest Paid Commentator Legally Prohibited From Criticizing Donald Trump which equates "criticism" with "disparaging"). But in my mind, demeaning and disparagement are a sort of "sour grapes" thing. CNN is simply pissed that Lewandowski does not harbor ill will toward the Trump campaign or his dismissal.
Separately, I wonder if similar "anti-disparagement" clauses exist in agreements signed by CNN employees, Clinton campaign employees, etc. Are CNN employees allowed to disparage and demean CNN?
They are mad because they know CNN is going to turn on Hillary. Corey despite his firing will be loyal to Trump.
