The Defense Department has been reviewing the policy for nearly a year
Nearly a year ago, Secretary of Defense Ash Carter said the U.S. military’s ban on the open service of transgender troops was “outdated” and promised the policy would be reviewed. Advocacy groups had grown impatient in the early months of this year, but a report late Friday indicates their wait is almost over.
USA Today, citing an unnamed Department of Defense official, reports the ban will end on July 1 and that Pentagon officials are gathering to finalize the details in the coming days. Individual branches of the armed services would have a year to implement new policies. A study commissioned by the Department of Defense and conducted by the RAND Corporation found that there “would be few hurdles to allowing transgender people to serve openly,” the New York Times recently reported.
Estimates of how many active duty military members identify as transgender are wide-ranging educated guesses, given that this is not information that the federal government collects. The RAND study estimated that only about 2,500 of the 1.2 million active duty members are transgender, while a study by UCLA’s Williams Institute estimated the number to be 15,500, in addition to 134,300 veterans.
Advocacy groups reacted to the news on Friday with approval. “This final remnant of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell will now be put to rest. This decision is a great victory for the many trans people who have served and sacrificed in the military over the years,” the National LGBTQ Task Force’s Victoria Rodríguez-Roldán said in a statement. “They also served in fear of being discharged from the service for simply being who they are. Thankfully this now will change.”

Could anyone imagine such a thing even ten years ago? I spent ten years in the navy and got out about half way through the Clinton years. But this is just off the hook. I have long since stopped encouraging young men to enlist. Now I am wondering if we are not getting close to the point of actively calling for a boycott of the armed forces. Aggressively campaigning to warn (normal) young men NOT to enlist.
At least in theory civilians can’t be criminally prosecuted (yet) for not being politically correct. But that is not the case in the military. They CAN prosecute you for not towing the line there.
If the queers take over the military at least they’ll have fabulous uniforms.

Yes and then there is all the expensive drugs and medical issues that have nothing to do with the military but the tax payers will fit the bill for. The military isn’t about a right of participation its about the capability to wage war. LGBT are a disruption and unnecessary complication to fighting war.

What happens if these people are out in the wilds somewhere? Will the military spend a ton of money to get them their needed treatments so they don’t start looking like what they really are?
Transgender is a fiction, a complete denial of reality. Nobody is born in the wrong body. They are no more anything other than how they are constructed than somebody who claims to be Napoleon is the leader of France.
So, now they can wear their “pretty pink panties” into combat. I don’t think it will turn out well if they’re ever captured.
Seriously, this is what this is about. It’s not about getting their things cut off. It’s more about taping their things between their legs, putting on some make up and dressing like a woman. I doubt many women will want to share a room, or a shower, with these freaks. I predict a huge drop in both male and female enlistments. Which is one of their goals.
There is no reason for all of this crap except it has to be coming from the evil one.
As I said, this isn’t about true transgendered people. They’ve redefined the word “transgender” to include men dressing in women’s clothes.
Back in the 60’s there was the saying “Anything goes”. That is now the rule.
