Three people were arrested with several loaded pistols, rifles and bullet-resistant vests in a the Holland Tunnel that connects New Jersey to New York City, NBC 4 New York reported. Police initially stopped them for driving with a cracked windshield.
The three individuals were traveling to New York on Tuesday, but were stopped around 7:40 a.m. on the New Jersey side of the tunnel. A search of their vehicle revealed the cache of the combat gear, which a police photograph showed including a shotgun, a scoped rifle, knives, multiple pistols and several ammunition magazines.
Drugs were also recovered from the vehicle, authorities said.
On the weak side for a FReeper gun safe, for sure. A little heavy for everyday carry.
heh! I had to double check to see if there was one in the pic of the confiscated gear.
Thank G-d for *cracked windshields* !
Sounds like *foreigner* types — don’t know what they are doing. They shur arnt NewYerkers!
Anybody driving that garish vehicle should expect to be pulled over.
We must ban tunnels!
Some more to the story.....he owns a gun shop near me called High Ground Tactical:
Been going through the guy’s FB pictures.
He JUST lost his daughter to a heroin OD about 4 months ago. Looks like there’s some meat to this story of him buggin’ over to Queens. One news story says this:
One of the suspects has been identified as 50-year-old John Cramsey, a Pennsylvania gun store owner who has made it his mission to rescue drug addicts after his daughter overdosed on heroin on February 21.
According to NBC New York one of the suspects told investigators they were driving to Queens to try to save a heroin-addicted friend who was being held against her will. Police said they were looking for the woman in Queens, the news station reports. Cramsey had posted on Facebook early Tuesday morning about his planned mission to save a girl from a Brooklyn hotel.
Police said they seized a shotgun, an AR-15 style rifle and handguns, along with goggles, tactical gear, ammunition and knives. An ammo-box labelled Shoot your local heroin dealer and a bag with the label firearms instructor were also in the vehicle, photos released by the Port Authority show. Other tactical gear had the word police written on it. One of the gun magazines seized had the word America on it and another said United We Stand.

More Dutch terrorism?
Don’t give them ideas.
For those of us who travel through the Holland or Lincoln on a regular basis, not amused...every time I go in I am grateful as hell to come out. Not overly thrilled with the security at these two targets.
Seriously - I take more guns than for a casual day at the range. Not so much on the knives though.
Wow. Good for the dad, although if one isn’t careful, this is how you can end up (arrested and probably in big trouble). I hope they can find the person he was trying to rescue.
I wonder if there is more to them being stopped. Not due to the crack in the windshield, but perhaps his upset wife calling 911 after begging him not to go and do this on his own.
LOL!
In THESE dire times, that made me chuckle.
Thanks! :)
“Cramsey had posted on Facebook early Tuesday morning about his planned mission to save a girl from a Brooklyn hotel.”
Oh - I glanced over that part. Yeah - that might have been a tip-off. (DUHHHHH!)
Well, sheet...that, ‘’MERICA’ clip is what’s going to hang them in court!
*SMIRK*
Exercising the right to keep and bear arms.
Yeah, having “Higher Ground Tactical” written in big letters across the windshield wasn’t exactly stealthy when traveling through enemy territory. Should have just written “Search Me! Take My Guns!”, lol.
John Cramsey is the owner of the gun range down the road from me. I don’t know him very well but did know his daughter Alexandria very well.
Alexandria’s death from heroin mixed with fentanyl in February was a disastrous punch in the stomach to most people around here. We watched her grow up on the local Radio/TV program Happy Jack. She was the most beautiful, driven to succeed young woman I have ever known. She was on her way to a great modeling future. She had just come back from a modeling gig in Mexico and was due to leave the next day to another in Georgia. She was not a drug addict and all we can think of is that she tried it and it killed her.
Her father John Cramsey, the man who pulled this outrageous stunt today is just beyond himself with grief. He has become obsessed with saving young people from heroin and getting rid of dealers. He plays a Rambo kind of guy around here in rural Pennsylvania and apparently wasn’t thinking clearly to pull this stunt in NJ/NY. I feel sorry for him. He does need help before he hurts someone or himself.
I had the same feeling as you when I lived in Southern California.
It made me uptight when I was stuck beneath an overpass somewhere, waiting for a light to change or stuck in a traffic jam on a freeway in a similar situation. I thought. “It would be just my luck to have a major earthquake hit right now and have this overpass come crashing down on top of me!”
