Donald Trump's campaign started the month with a paltry $1.3 million in cash a mere fraction of Hillary Clinton's $42.5 million war chest putting the GOP frontrunner at a sharp disadvantage heading into the general election against Clinton's money machine.
And it's not just money the filings revealed a campaign staff of less than 70, a number was dwarfed by Clinton's nearly 700 paid employees, and few of the campaign's expenses suggested work had begun to build out a more robust operation. All together, it's the most lopsided fundraising start to a presidential election in the modern campaign finance era."

Trump doesn’t need to be running a lot of ads now.
The convention will be a big production and will get a lot of attention.
September and October are the crucial months. That is when the average person will start paying attention.
“This imbalance in funds has to be intentional.”
He’s going to use it to point out Hillary’s wall street connections, donations from foreign governments, and her being beholden to voters.
While he is just an everyday man, running a presidential campaign in a shoestring budget - and can do the same with the government.
Don’t the Democrats favor taking the money out of politics? Seems Trump is walking the walk.
I thought it was cute. Hillary selling her shoes to get money ;)
As of the end of April, Trump had raised a total of $60 million, spent $56.5 million and had $2.4 million on hand. At that time, Clinton had raised $296.4 million, had spent $181.6 million and had $30.2 million cash on hand. Bernie had raised $212.8 million, spent $207 million and had $5.8 million cash on hand.
According to my calculator, the R candidates raised a total of 1.1 billion. The D & R candidates together raised 1.7 billion. So again according to my calculator, Trump raised 5.4% of the R total and 3.5% of the D+R total.
That seems like a very efficient use of funds, rather than something to worry about. He no doubt has a larger line of credit than most of us here do.
Duh. The Big Money is on Hitlery.
Big money will help the party down ticket but I don’t know how much Trump requires more money to get his own message out. He’s using twitter and youtube to great effect.
Of course the question is how many people don’t follow his online presence. The television and radio only audience may still be huge and it will require buying time to do there what he does online virtually for free.
I would question those emails. I have donated to Trump twice and never received an email asking for money. Some Freepers who donated to Cruz are reporting they also received emails from Trump. Do not donate through those emails.

All that campaign money sure did benefit Bush!
This election is going to be won in the debates.
The RNC is providing the infrastructure. Something new that they’ve been working on for four years. Hillary has to provide her own infrastructure.
After the convention if all goes Trump’s way, and I think it will (and it will be brilliant) I will donate to both RNC and Donald Trump directly.
He can self finance if necessary.
More importantly.. "GET THE RIGHT PERSONNEL INTO THE GAME."
Very much like an NBA, NFL, or MLB final it's ALL about having the right TEAM on the court/field if you want to win.
If someone is asking for money on behalf of the Trump campaign, and doing so fraudulently, they should be sued out of existence. I imagine Trump is aware of these fundraising emails — he should sue them, if they’re not from him or his campaign.
Look closely. They aren’t from Trump. They are from the RNC. Just had a talk with a major fundraiser in TX who has explained what is going on.
No, Trump has not yet made a push for money.
From the wayback machine...

Bush Raises over $100 Million to Help His Campaign
Washington (CNN)Jeb Bush and his allied super PAC raised $114 million to support his campaign, a massive fundraising haul made possible in part by rewriting the rules of how presidential campaigns raise money.
Bush’s super PAC, Right to Rise USA, said Thursday it collected $103 million since January, money that it must spend independently to back Bush’s presidential bid. Together, Bush’s super PAC and campaign came close to raising as much money in the first half of 2015 — a year before a general election — as American Crossroads, the second biggest super PAC in 2012, did during the entire two-year cycle.

“We are grateful for the overwhelming response from the thousands of donors who have been drawn to Jeb’s optimistic message of conservative renewal and reform,” said Charlie Spies, the election lawyer who is advising Bush and helped Mitt Romney raise more than $150 million for Romney’s super PAC in 2012.

You are on to something: He DOES have some sort of agreement with the RNC involving this latest fundraising which is at least as much about raising money for the RNC as it is about Trump’s campaign.
Big Red takes the lead on the back-stretch—pulls away for the win!

You’re wrong. They are from the Trump campaign. He is making “a push for money.” This is what’s at the bottom of each of these fundraising letters:
Paid for by Donald J. Trump for President, Inc.
This message reflects the opinions and representations of Donald J. Trump for President, Trump Tower 725 Fifth Avenue Manhattan, New York.
And this is the link I arrive at when I click to donate:

Your talk with “a major fundraiser in TX” is wrong. I have the actual emails to prove it.
We, Trump supporters, are taking care of Trump, he has enough money to landslide this election...not to worry, no matter how much the media twits and others are trying so hard to make this look bad, it isn’t!!!
