Fox News’ Gretchen Carlson Doubles Down On AR-15 Ban
Breitbart.com ^ | 6-15-2016 | AWR HAWKINS

Gretchen Carlson is renewing her push for an AR-15 ban, firing off a series of tweets further criticizing AR-15s and pointed to her daughter’s work with a Newtown charity. Breitbart News reported that Carlson said that AR-15s are not needed “to hunt or kill deer” and suggested they only serve to enable terrorists to carry out their attacks with greater efficiency. She quoted a December 2015 poll showing majority support for an “assault weapons” ban and said, “I’m with the majority today, taking a stand.”

When confronted by Second Amendment supporters on Twitter, Carlson doubled down on her pro-ban stance, sometimes conflating an AR-15 with the 30-round magazines that can be used in such a firearm.

The main reason is in “About Face” by David Hackworth. My Saiga also fairs much better for home self defense because of it’s size and caliber.

A .223 is largely a glorified .22 round with more powder and a full metal jacket. Not there’s anything wrong with that but ummmm, no thanks.

What is this endless parade of harridans, trading on fading physical beauty, parading their stupidity in front of huge numbers of people.

She's probably being prodded every day by the left wing circles in which she travels, to put the negligible weight of her opinion behind disarming us gun retards. Freaking career couch ornament.

our side doesn’t know how to argue this point at times....AR 15 is an excellent weapon for when law and order breaks down...Hurricane Katrina and L.A. riots ring any bells?. Police cut and ran....Korean store owners all had AR’s....case closed. Also, Trump should issue one of his famous declarations...”I hereby urge, that since our current government cannot protect its citizens, I call on all people that are eligible, how don’t own firearms, too immediately armed themselves and prepare too protect your loved ones”...the media would go bonkers...

Someone needs to pull her and Oreilly aside and whisper that the 2nd amendment is not for hunting, self defense, sport shooting, its for the citizenry to be prepared to overthrow an onerous government that acts to take away our 2nd amendment rights. Oh, and we can’t do that with pea shooters and potato guns.

"By calling attention to 'a well regulated militia,' the 'security' of the nation, and the right of each citizen 'to keep and bear arms,' our founding fathers recognized the essentially civilian nature of our economy. Although it is extremely unlikely that the fears of governmental tyranny which gave rise to the Second Amendment will ever be a major danger to our nation, the Amendment still remains an important declaration of our basic civilian-military relationships, in which every citizen must be ready to participate in the defense of his country. For that reason I believe the Second Amendment will always be important."

President John F. Kennedy

---------------------------------------------------

"Certainly one of the chief guarantees of freedom under any government, no matter how popular and respected, is the right of citizens to keep and bear arms. This is not to say that firearms should not be very carefully used and that definite safety rules of precaution should not be taught and enforced. But the right of citizens to bear arms is just one more guarantee against arbitrary government, one more safeguard against a tyranny which now appears remote in America, but which historically has proved to be always possible."

Vice President and Senator Hubert H. Humphrey

gretchen, if you don’t like the 2nd amendment, you are welcome to try to repeal it.

Until then, STFU.

This is ignorance on many levels. The murdering moozlum idiot didn’t even use an “AR-15”. Fools. Tyrants. Gun grabbing degenerates.

The Boston bombers didn’t use AR-15s.

Yet, they managed to maim and kill many.

Where there is a will (to kill), they will find a way (to kill).

She’s not too bright - she had a “tweet poll” yesterday where over 80% disagreed with her.

Basically the issues the military had in Vietnam with the M16 still largely exist with the AR-15 and other ARs.

They need to be kept remarkably clean. Maintenance is a pain in the butt. They don’t do a hell of a lot of damage and the bullets can travel a ridiculous distance. If you are going to get an AR get it in .308 or some other caliber. .223 is crap.

I can bury my Siaga in mud for a month, pull it out, slap a magazine in it and shoot it. Try that with an AR.

“I wish, just once, a gun grabber would articulate exactly what it is about an AR-15 that differentiates it as ‘easier to kill people with’, when compared to a common semi-auto pistol, or a hunting rifle ordered out of a Sears catalog 100 years ago.”

Since you asked I’ll tell you. An AR15 is designed for a sustained high rate of semi auto fire, ergonomically designed for minimal recoil and a standard magazine capacity of 30 rounds. I doubt you will find a 100 year old Sears rifle with those specs. PS, I love AR15s and dont want them banned.
