Sanders Fans, I Get Your Pain. But Let’s Unite Against Trump. [WARNING ! PROCEED WITH CAUTION !!]
The New York Times ^ | JUNE 6, 2016 | JAY CARSON

I understand you may not love (or even like) Mrs. Clinton right now. Perhaps you can’t imagine knocking on doors for her in the cold or donating your hard-earned money to finance her campaign. I’m doing both of those things, but I realize that you may not want to. I felt the same way about Mr. Obama in 2008. In the end I didn’t work hard to get him elected (I really regret that now, by the way), but neither did I do or say anything that would harm his chances. I came to accept that he was, in fact, my party’s nominee and might be the eventual president.

Recalling all those op-ed articles I discarded, I finally wrote one toned-down enough that I thought someone might publish it. I showed it to the one person whose blessing, if not praise, I needed: Hillary Clinton. Her response was clear and unequivocal. Do not send this to anyone. The race is over, she said. We fought our best fight, but we lost.

I know how difficult those lessons about losing can be to impart — and even more so to accept. But it is of the utmost importance that we all look beyond this intraparty contest to the one coming in November. I understand the anger about losing, and I know you may not love her (or even like her) yet. But Hillary Clinton is going to be the nominee of the Democratic Party. She is the only thing standing between us and President Trump. That should be enough motivation for all of us to put our differences behind us and focus on helping her win.

How anyone could say they give that vile wretched hag a nickel is beyond me. She should just give another speech. That would get her more than my town makes in a month. She doesn’t need money from people that work.

The doctor should have spanked the placenta when Jay was born, it clearly had more sense.

I looked at the last few dozen comments on the NYT for this article, and there was not a single positive post for Hillary. Not one. Yes, some people said they’d vote for her, but only because she’s the Democrat candidate. No one was enthusiastic about her, and many who said they’d vote for her said so after enumerating her many negatives. A few said they’d vote for Trump if Sanders wasn’t the nominee.

This level of negativity amongst a group whom should be her most ardent supporters is actually rather stunning, and I don’t think it bodes well for Hillary at all.

Liberals exist to remind us that Satan exists and he roams the world, seeking souls. Liberals make his job easier.

I counted 26 times “I” was used in the entire article, not counting the possessive; could have missed some.

Unlike Senator John McCain, the Republican nominee in 2008, Donald J. Trump is dangerous.

Translation: McCain was one of us.

“Why do liberals exist?”

Because hard working, God fearing, patriotic American heterosexual couples birthed them, coddled, protected, nurtured them.

Liberals are the spoiled brat beneficiaries of American Exceptionalism. They suffer the “Curse of Inherited Wealth.” Given everything, they appreciate nothing. Born middle class American affluent they experience guilt/angst/self hatred at the power prestige and comfort handed them by prior generations of hard working self sacrificing Americans.

They have everything but have earned nothing. They have no conception of value. Life is too easy. Something is wrong. I must fix it. People must be punished.

Six uses of the pronoun ‘I’ in this brief excerpt.

You're missing a couple there... I count 8 in the first paragraph alone!
