I read sometimes back that Isreali soldiers concocted a skunk spray that broke up crowds really fast.
If these are paid protestors, why are they even considered to be protestors? They're paid actors in a staged performance. Isn't anyone staging a performance supposed to have appropriate permits and be responsible for those whose safety might be impacted by the show? Don't they have to put up money and prove that they're insured before they put on their performance?
If self-employed, did these actors yay their taxes? Were they EVerified before they were employed? Did the employers discriminate? Do actors in a performance have any right whatsoever to attack those passing by?
I would think that since this was a performance without the permits, the mayor and police chief had an absolute obligation to disperse them and apply applicable laws to those who planned this.
If you’re going to a Trump rally armed, pay attention to what the Secret Service permits and what they ban. One nice accessory to carry is a cane (one without a sword, and not modified with lead weight or anything else that would show intent in a hostile jurisdiction), if you know how to use it, since canes are always permitted. A cane made of heavy wood and designed to be sturdy is a wonderful thing.
Wasp spray is cheaper, more range and hurts like hell for DAYS if not WEEKS and is legal to use on insects like cockroaches that vote democrat......the cans of wasp spray also fit very nice in a 16 ounce sized beer coozie , upside down till ya need it....it looks like just a beer or energy drink can.......

Trump is much more of a moderate than anyone is giving him credit for. He’s interfering with some perversely privileged lunch tickets, but firmly in favor of a general prosperity.
Sometimes we have to let the tantrums bring their own shame in the eyes of history, rather than confuse the issue by entertaining them with the opposition Kabuki theater they crave. If the tantrums play out but Trump gets voted up in a tsunami, then the tantrums will have been for naught.

Not applicable for an indoor event, but if its an outdoor rally, and you’ve got a dog that’s protective of you, that might be an option.
Gang trash and the like generally have a healthy respect for dogs, and dogs don’t really care about the kind of speech these dirtballs use to try to intimidate people.
Learn ju-jitsu, taekwondo, or another martial art which trains you to defend yourself against multiple attackers. While these ferals may appear fearsome in packs, they are actually terrible fighters in a one-on-one scenario.
