Judd Apatow (Trainwreck) defended his Freaks and Geeks collaborator Paul Feig on his Ghostbusters film, comparing the haters who disagree with the all-female cast to Donald Trump supporters.
Apatow told Uproxx in an interview, I would assume theres a very large crossover of people who are doubtful Ghostbusters will be great and people excited about the Donald Trump candidacy. I would assume they are the exact same people.

It had a long run for this day and age. Most movies are in and out of the theater in a month or less, even the blockbusters.
It was a pretty good film. My son liked it and I didn’t fall asleep so it was better than lots of the crap that they put out.
I still ain’t seen Episode 7
And now Thor is a female as Marvel grovels to PC.
Yeah, that will play well. See JC Penny’s, Macy’s, et al.
Get a clue, morons: We are not racist or sexist. We are just TIRED OF THIS CRAP!!!
Well, he should know then.
Land-slide!
It had a strong female lead, maintained consistency with the originals trilogy, involved interesting political, personal, and theological issues, and blew the doors off in terms of revenues.
Personally I thought they nailed it.
Sure some Freeper can provide a link to revenues (if that has not already happened).
Yes, because having a movie with a strong male lead these days would be "sexist". You must have a waif-looking chick that can beat up six guys at the same time.
We saw the trailer, we said : seen this movie before. Not gonna waste time on this
It’s been out for 6 months now. This is about the time for a mega-hit to be on cable and satellite.
I am not surprised that it made a lot of money. That was probably a foregone conclusion no matter how good or bad it was.
It seems like only a few years ago that big hit movies would play for a very long time before going to pay per view.
Mr. Van Winkle is that you?
It had one female lead and two male leads (Rey, Finn, Poe) just like the original trilogy (Leia, Han, Luke) and the prequels (Amidala, Anakin, Obi-Wan).
I generally agree with your point.
For example, Lara Croft is a joke. She shoots .50 cal Desert Eagles like they were squirt guns. In reality, taking one shot with a real Desert Eagle would break her wrist.
However, Rey was a well constructed character. She was vulnerable, sought help from the male characters, and grew into her non-physical powers (i.e., the Force).
Don’t see anything wrong with that...
Gee - an all-female cast for what was originally a classic on its own - a cheap, unimaginative gimmick to try to bring people to the box office - and those who call them out are the baddies - how juvenile....
It’s the “Karate Kid” syndrome, they always have to try to replace the male protagonist with a girl to extend the franchise and basically tell the very same story.
Yes, because we are not brainwashed idiots who think everything is good because we are told it is.
If this is supposed to be a good movie they sure are trying to hide it by releasing terrible trailers.
oh vey, he thinks we are all putzes and schmucks
I saw the trailer for this one with no particular expectations, except that I heard that the actresses involved are supposed to be funny. I never saw the original “Ghostbusters” and so have no commitment to its “iconic” status.
This trailer is simply dull, stupid, insipid, and totally NOT funny. Given that Hollywood tries to pack highlights and laughs into the marketing trailer, for a movie to have such an awful trailer is a very bad sign indeed.
They can rail against the public all they want, but simply based upon the trailer I will not go near this movie, and I expect it ought to bomb badly. Of course, no one ever went broke under-estimating the intelligence of (some) Hollywood audiences!! Maybe it will find its niche....
