PGA Tour moves golf event from Donald Trump's Doral to Mexico City
See BS ^ | 6/1/16 | Kyle Porter

The PGA Tour has been going to Doral, Florida, for 55 straight years. From 1962 until 2006, it visited for the Doral Open, and then in 2007, it began hosting the WGC-Cadillac Championship, which continued until this past year. Fifty-five straight years of PGA Tour golf in Doral.

Well, we might have seen professional golf there for the last time -- at least in the immediate future -- when Adam Scott defeated Rory McIlroy and others at Trump National in March. That's because the PGA Tour has decided to pull one of its marquee events out of the course near Miami and move it to Mexico City for a WGC event in 2017.

My cousin was on a cruise a week ago that stopped in Mexico. The bus from the ship to the beach (a private one), went through a locked gate & there was “beach security” keeping an eye on everything. My cousin said he was ‘glad for it’.

So ... is the PGA/Mexico ready to protect players, their entourages, officials, fans, etc.? Kidnappers are looking for high dollar targets.

BTW, I won’t be watching on TV.

Golf carts are not allowed on PGA tours.

I can see that some NeverTrumper wanted to show their dislike of The Donald in regards to that property. That is their free choice. But in this huge continent of America, there was no other place suitable, no place within America good enough? They would be a lot safer.

Who’s going to be the title sponsor in 2017 as 2016 was the last year for Cadillac.
Title sponsor maybe one reason for the change of venue.

It would be glorious if Mexico City had a string of their “smog” days during the tournament. Nothing says high level golf like a well groomed course and a muddy brown sky.

Golf carts are not allowed on PGA tours.

What ever happened to that ADA "arthritic knees" "pro" that wanted to use a cart on the tour?

And incredibly polluted.

To put a sharper point on it: Some time ago, State Dept employees were given additional pay for serving in Mexico City. Something about the fecal matter ratio to oxygen in the air.

Just goes to show that the Mexicans are more important to them than the downwardly mobile middle-aged white Americans.
