As you have likely heard, on this past Saturday a 4-year-old boy fell into the gorilla habitat at the Cincinnati Zoo.
A gut-wrenching decision was made by the zoo to shoot and kill the gorilla to protect the boy and rescue him from the habitat.
The fallout over the incident has taken a decidedly racist turn as the public has now discovered that the boy and his parents are black.
Laura Collins, in Cincinnati writing for the Daily Mail, published an absolutely despicable piece on the young boys parents, including every detail of his fathers criminal history.
The actual lede and headline for her piece was all about how the young boys father,

I’m just always amazed how the British press (especially the Daily Mail) reveal facts to the story that the US media tries to censor. BTW, did they ever identify the Houston gunman?
I questioned it too, so I looked up your link and found
“alteration of 2lead
First Known Use: 1976”
which explains it all, since I had Journalism 101 in 1973!
“...public has now discovered that the boy and his parents are black.”
Huh? The kid looked white to me.
He should talk. Because we ALL know he’s an expert on racism.
We should call King Kunta Kintay.
Yes, it’s the fake black racist who hates himself.
A haiku:
King the fake black man
Should have justice served to him
With wooden nightstick
It’s relevant because it shows the dad is too freaking stupid to watch his kid. He’s an irresponsible dumbass.
Lede??? I always thought it was Lead.....am I wrong?
= = = = = = = = =
Of course you are.
You are probably one of those privileged white folks that has never had to work a day in his life to achieve your millions. The fact is proven that you have far too much time on your hands where you can sit around and pick up on foibles such as this.
Then again, if you worked all your life and paid attention while the state was educating (before the ‘curve’) you, when words like ‘lede’ show up on a page and they virtually jump off the page and say ‘What are you going to do about it’.
Then again - I just looked to see if there is such a word as lede and LO & BEHOLD, SUFFERIN SUCCOTASH, HEAVENS TO MERGATROID , there is a word spelled L E D E and it means the LEDE column (read LEAD) column in an article or the teaser to entice you to read the whole article. Whodda thunk that...
Naturally this whole ‘waste of time’ is tongue in cheek and I am REALLY sad I found something that will enable to allow this so called journalist to get off the hook ALTHOUGH, I doubt the penner knows that - while pointing at his/her Journalist Degree...
So, a dangerous animal was shot in the rescue of a hapless child.
Oh, it was a gorilla? Better still! If Hollywood could make a gorilla’s presence any more dangerous for the production of a celluloid fantasy, then I would bet the house that the real thing is much more dangerous.
Oh, the gorilla had dark fur?
Oh, the Black Live Matters crowd is screaming ‘racism’ for shooting the gorilla?
My last statement: “It’s dead, Jim.”
A haiku:
Where was felon dad?
Not on scene, maybe stealing
Which is typical
A repeat felon
Simply can rename himself:
“Aspiring rapper”
I love watching liberals twist themselves into knots.
irrelevant
Lede is actually correct. But it is a bit surprising to find journalists that actually know that.
“Lede??? I always thought it was Lead.....am I wrong?”
No, it’s “lede.” It is pronounced “leed,” though.
“Ill tell you whats despicable, a white guy pretending to be black for the purpose of perpetrating a hoax on the public to take advantage of affirmative action programs that he is not entitled to.”
I think it’s hilarious. It’s a stupid law and and a stupid system and needs to be broken by misuse.
Sorry, bro, but Black Lives Matter initiated the racial flogging by proclaiming the gorilla’s death as a consequence of white privilege.
It went from an sorry incident to an inflammatory diatribe in moments because the BLM group decided to play the race card.
Everyone would be better served if you acknowledged the truly abysmal beginning to this story.
Sigh... Dear Shaun King. I’ll address your rant here as I have no desire to bolster the ratings of your crappy paper or your racist rant. The answer to your question is very simple, and it has nothing to do with racism. Look at all the similar examples you listed and see if you can spot the difference.
Here, let me help. Not one of them included an outcome where a beloved primate had to be put down. (No, that unto itself is not the reason.) Killing the gorilla brought out death threats to the family made by PETA wackos and other unhinged animal “lovers” with misplaced priorities.
Get it? Death threats to the family. As a “journalist” you should know that if such threats are made to a family then the media will then ask the question about WHO the family is. It’s part of journalism 101, you know, the 5 Ws and an H? Who, what, when, where, why and how.
Then again, perhaps the “5Ws and the H” foundation of news writing is racist?! Maybe I just gave you the topic of your next column?
Racist moron.
“People often ask why guys like me make everything racial as if we made the system this way. We didnt. Race and racism are obviously deeply entrenched in this ugly world and stories like this are required to fight back against it.”
You didn’t make it that way, Mr. King, you just perpetuate it because it is deeply entrenched in YOUR ugly psyche. Get a life.
Shaun is an idiot.
Shaun needs to realize that so many liberal people don’t really value life — white or black.
- Have progressives been screaming about the genocide against Christians in the middle east?
- Are progressives up in arms against the genocide at Planned Parenthood (especially since the original intent was for blacks to be aborted).
- Are liberals up in arms about the violence in the black community?
- Do liberals give a flip about so many black children without a father in the home?
Shaun, you’re trying to make this about race. The problem is that you and your fellow liberals don’t really value human life.
Well, it’s possible. Harambe was an African-American.
