Republican candidate Donald Trump is firing back after neoconservative operative Bill Kristol announced that he expects an independent candidate to enter the race to split the Republican vote.
Kristol’s effort to get a candidate to run on his anti-Trump “Latter-Day Republicans” ticket – already condemned by the Republican National Committee – has apparently come to fruition.
Just a heads up over this holiday weekend: There will be an independent candidate--an impressive one, with a strong team and a real chance.
Trump did not take the announcement lying down. The presumptive Republican nominee slammed Kristol and implored Republicans to keep the “Weekly Standard” editor in line.

George Will isn’t Jewish. Neither is Romney. Neither are most of the #NeverTrump crowd. Oh, and neither Kristin nor Levin are particularly religious, they are more JINIs than anything else.
OTOH, this particular Jew is aboard the True.p Train and has been since early last summer. So are a lot of other Jews that I know...just as a lot are against him or any Republican. Many Christians that I know are for him, many against.
Religion has NOTHING to do with this fight and this man. It is about the vision people have for this country - do you view it as a discreet entity that should remain independent, or as part of some world community?

The term ‘conservative’ has been battered around so much that it has lost any signficant meaning. Anyone, and most Republican politicians do, claim to be conservative — until after the election. Then they revert back to their moderate stands on most issues.
The Levins and Limbaughs have been crying for years that electing a conservative is the only way to save the nation. Well, conservatives gave the Republicans the House, and they are squadering it. Conservatives later gave them the Senate, and they are squandering that, too.
That is why Trump is having a relatively successful run — is not a typical politician who would say anything to get elected. He may be naive on the procedures and some issues, but voters seem willing to give him a chance.
If Trump only keeps 1/2 of the promises he made, he will be 10 times better than the last 4 presidents.

Donald Trump took to Twitter Sunday night to slam fresh predictions from Weekly Standard editor Bill Kristol that an independent candidate would soon be entering the race for president, warning that a 2016 “spoiler” could swing the race to the Democrats.
Kristol, along with other conservative pundits, long has been working to attract an independent candidate to run in November amid lingering concerns in some wings of the Republican Party about Trump’s conservative credentials. This effort to date has struggled to recruit a willing candidate, while running into logistical hurdles — including the rules and deadlines for getting new names on the ballot.
Yet on Sunday, Kristol teased a forthcoming announcement, saying on Twitter:
Just saying money is not a factor in his decision.
