A North Carolina police department backed out of sending 50 police officers to the Republican presidential convention in Cleveland in June over concerns about whether the city is prepared to host an event that is expected to bring at least 50,000 visitors to northeast Ohio.
Greensboro police made the decision earlier this week to pull its officers from the event, saying the city isnt providing workers compensation for coverage for out-of-town officers and is requiring them to get physical exams theyd have to pay for themselves.
Deputy Police Chief Brian James wrote in a memo to the citys police chief that he had spoken with police administrators experienced in planning events like the GOP convention and that they expressed a lack of confidence in the city of Cleveland and their preparedness.

"But for us, for coming out of our jurisdiction into another state, we had hoped that we would have better clarification on different logistical issues, and specifically what our assignments would be going into Cleveland," James said. "And we don't have that information at this time."
[ ] A number of city police departments in Ohio and other states have decided not to send officers to Cleveland, including Cincinnati, Loomis said.
A Cincinnati police spokesman said Friday that the previous police chief had discussed sending officers to Cleveland, but his successor decided against it because of the insurance issue and because Cincinnati is hosting the national NAACP convention the same week.

North Carolina police department pulls out of Republican National Convention
PING!!
Cleveland police in riot gear won’t wear body cameras during RNC

Police officials have told officers that a host of logistical issues, including an inability to attach the cameras to police riot gear, means officers will not be able to wear the devices.
Protestors will be aware of the lack of body cameras. False accusations will fly.
Sounds like Cleveland has ‘some plans’ for this convention, and they don’t want them disrupted by cops that will not take jack from rioters.
They don’t want share Trans bathrooms
This smells fishy to high heaven. This does not sound right, and I feel someone or a group has plans that are up to no good. I pray I am wrong, but we are going to have a long Hot Summer.
It is very important that officers have in writing and documented what exactly will be their responsibilities when out of their jurisdictions and no coverage provided by their own agencies. Coordination between agencies is vital when the shit hits the fan while DOJ, ACLU, along with world wide media actively scrutinizing each officers individual actions. This is a recipe for disaster, that officers know will potentially be career ending, with them being thrown to the wolves by their agencies and finger pointing all around.
The Governor needs deploy the National Guard in force with well thought out ROE (Read: Rules of Engagement) Oh wait! I forgot about Kent State. Forget it, just roll over and cancel the event. Give in to the anarchists. That is what they want anyway. They are essentially admitting the state doesn’t have the what is needed in this politically correct environment.
I agree. It’s good this info is coming out now. Maybe they can get it straight before the convention.
Greensboro Mayor. NANCY VAUGHAN - DEMOCRAP!
A haiku:
Damn filthy hippies
Doing Soros’ bidding
They need wood shampoo!
I think the smell test for this is, “Well, then the Democratic convention should be getting the same exact concerns and problems.”
If not, it’s all partisan BS.
Just call out the National Guard....and a few sludge cannons.
Kasich better get on the ball.
The RNC convention is in his state—Ohio.
I think Kasich wants to do everything he can to sabotage Trump at the Convention.
And the media will hype said false reports as “true.”
No video evidence to refute it.
Libs will be doing what they do best, lie.
They are all Private contractors, and not law enforcement.
(Proven in court 4 times.)
Why would a NC city be sending its officers to a partisan convention in Ohio? In a non-partisan position, are they allowed to support a certain side in their official capacity? Or if this is personal attendance, why is the city involved at all?
Or if this is official working there, why is a NC city working their people in an entirely different state? that’s not even on their border?
