President Obama is visiting Vietnam today and paused for a picture with communist party President Tran Dai Quang in front of a bust of Ho Chi Minh.
Perhaps it’s just me, but given the nature of the diplomatic relationship this specific optic seems rather inappropriate.

Good grief, what a picture. It’s practically a religious shrine and he lets himself be used. Obama is a fellow traveler but even he should have better instincts. His advance people should never have allowed this photo op, arranged this way, to be on the agenda.

Up until this current presidency, I didn't have any prejudice one way or the other about blacks, but the fact that they voted for him 98% makes me think that maybe they really aren't as smart as the rest of us.
