During a May 14 commencement address to Old Miss graduates, retired news anchor and journalist Tom Brokaw said, more guns will mean more homegrown acts of terror.
Tom Brokaw lamented the continuing expansion of gun ownership and the success of gun rights organizations that support that expansion.
According to The Commercial Appeal, Brokaw referenced the homicide rate in Democrat-run Memphis, Tennessee, then said:
Im appalled by the determination of organizations and individuals to arm more people without any appreciation of the consequence of evermore lethal weapons in our midst. More guns and more firearm tolerance will mean more homegrown acts of terror.
He remained on the topic of guns, telling the graduating class of the University of Mississippi, Yes, we have a constitutional right to own guns
but with that right comes a personal obligation to be on guard against the promiscuous use of guns (and) not to pretend that no limits means no trouble.

Yes but......there are so many firearms in the US that several years ago there were 90 firearms on average for every 100 people.
What does that mean? Well there are a lot of kids under age 18 who aren't allowed to own a firearm. There are a lot of felons who aren't allowed to own a firearm. If you work it all out “on average,” there are more firearms in the US than there are people who can legally own them.
So how can there be any statistically significant increase in firearm ownership that would induce terrorism?
Is that old Canadian Communist still alive?
Bang!
Ol Tom is shootin his mouth off again.
According to Brokow and his ilk, banning guns will help prevent acts of terror, but banning jihadis will make acts of terror more likely. As usual with progs, he gets things exactly backassward.
Why in the devil does any commencement speaker think it’s the right time to propagandize controversial issues in the country? Certainly not the way it was a few years ago but then what is? The addresses used to take into consideration what the graduates were going to be facing and giving them pep talks..
Everyone (all liberals) seems to think that people just can’t do without their opinions. Graduating students need to put their foot down on just who is going to speak at their commencement. Yeah - four years of being brainwashed and they will get right on that. They wouldn’t even understand so forget it. They aren’t worth the effort.
Insanity defined.
Quick! Name a retired news broadcaster who promotes conservative principles?

Damn! Glad I didn’t have that as a key question in my final exams. I’m almost 74 and can’t think of a one...
Great GIF!
