Donald Trump has hired hundreds of people throughout his career and soared to national fame as the star of a reality TV show dubbed the "ultimate job interview."
Now, as the Republican Party's presumptive presidential nominee, Trump is beginning the most consequential interview process of his lifetime: choosing a vice president.
While Trump has never before had to pick a political partner, he has had plenty of practice sifting through resumes and hand-picking executives to help run his real estate empire. Four current and past senior managers at the Trump Organization who agreed to speak with CNN -- including the general managers of the Trump golf course in Los Angeles and the Trump International Hotel in New York -- shed light on how Trump deliberates over his corporate hires -- and what kind of qualities Trump likes in a No. 2.
"Many of the same qualities that he would look for for someone to work closely with him within his organization are going to apply to his search for a VP," said Jill Martin, vice president and assistant general counsel for the Trump Organization.
Deeply loyal
Martin and others describe a boss who demands deep loyalty, both to him and his franchise. He is drawn to conventional markers of prestige, such as Ivy League degrees or past employment at well-known firms. He can be somewhat of a micromanager, at times involved in even the minutiae of decorating decisions throughout his numerous properties. Despite exerting this level of control, he also takes to employees who push back and speak their minds -- as long as they remember he is u

They can have an Apprentice Show this summer for his VP search.
He’s already said that since he has no experience in Washington, he wants someone who can navigate his ideas through the legislative process and who is intimately familiar with how to get things done there.
It’ll be Gingrich.
Sounds like a job I’d be perfect for. I think I’ll apply :}

Condi Rice? LOL
Trump wants someone who is totally loyal to him and to his organization.
Rice’s ultimate loyalty is to the color of her skin. She voted for Obama and would vote on color lines in the future.
Somehow we keep hoping that AA politicians will leave their biases behind. It never happens.
It will be a person who knows Washington DC, a man, an old man who can advise Trump. It will not be picked because of gender or skin color. Rudy G. Newt G. Rick Perry, or Dr. Carson.
Or Jeff Sessions!
News to me....got proof?
They can have an Apprentice Show this summer for his VP search. That would be AWESOME!
How is any neocon going to help Trump in the campaign?
Gingrich has a lot going for him, but women really do hate him (if my wife is any indication.) Just visceral dislike. And can he sublimate his ego? Can he be loyal?
There is a huge case to be made for Kasich. He has a lot of the same bona fides as Gingrich, without as many downsides.
I realize that's sarcastic, but there's a part of me who would love to see politicians actually having to show up on time, put in some actual hard work, and see the results of their efforts in a quantifiable manner.
It would have Super Bowl sized ratings each week.
Moreover she spent a lifetime with W. She was his work wife for pete’s sake. She has a nice personality but she doesn’t speak well. Her voice is hesitant, nervous, on edge. Not good on the campaign trail and that’s mostly what you need the vp for.
He needs a woman on the ticket. I still think it’ll be Palin.
Palin, same problem, that voice. I don’t know what it is, it drives people crazy, even northerners who talk like that too.
Other than the fact that he’s a liberal?
But she has also made it plain that Homobama's anointment made her especially proud!
