Trump Wins Most Votes Ever for Republican Primary Candidate, Breaks Bush's Record
YC Young Conservatives ^ | May 18, 2016 | Alicia Powe

Many were probably just hoping for a brokered convention to derail the New York businessman. These “experts” were not simply wrong, they were drop-dead wrong.

Trump will not only reach the number of delegates it takes to win the nomination outright on Tuesday June 7th, he has won the most primary votes of any GOP presidential candidate in modern history. Based on astute political analysis, who would have guessed?

From Gateway Pundit:

George W. Bush won 10.8 million votes in the 2000 Republican primary. Donald Trump has won 11.1 million votes so far this year.

Donald Trump won Oregon tonight but Hillary Clinton barely squeaked out a win in Kentucky and lost to Bernie Sanders in Oregon....

... Trump has more primary wins (27), more overall state wins (30), the highest percentage of primary wins (87%), the highest percent of overall state wins (71%), the highest percent of primary delegates (74%), the highest percent of overall delegates (67%), and the highest percentage of votes (60%) than the final top four Republican and Democrat candidates.

B-b-but the ceiling…

The same naysayers who have ardently predicted Trump could never win the nomination also forsee the presumpitve Republican nominee getting crushed in the general election.

But he’ll probably break another record for most votes ever by a candidate when he mops the floor with Killary in November.

Haters gonna hate.

Wow, that was a doozy. Venomous, wasn’t I? LOL

The post I was thinking of, was in reply to Cringing Negativism Network, who posted the very first thread I saw, regarding Trump entering the race.

I was cocky and joking. I didn’t take Donald’s announcement seriously at all. The joke was on me, though. Within weeks, after doing some honest due diligence, I was on board the Trump Train.

Thanks for digging out that old post. I’m humbled.

I have a feeling Trump will break Reagan’s record of total votes in either 1980 or 1984. Electorally, Clinton’s are much tougher opponents than Mondale & Carter, so Trump can’t break Reagan’s electoral records.

I became very suspicious when I realized he was not qualified to hold office.

You’re setting the bar mighty high! And that would be great if he could.

“I became very suspicious when I realized he was not qualified to hold office.”

Finding out that Ted wasn’t even a natural born citizen of this country, was yet another mark against him for me. I’d already stopped supporting him when that was revealed.

Then came all the nasty trickery on the campaign trail, strange statements to the press, lying about Trump’s agenda, inexplicable bizarrreness like being sworn in by Glenn Beck, the revivalist preacher schtick, delegate poaching.....it got to be too much for any sane person to stomach any longer.
