Many were probably just hoping for a brokered convention to derail the New York businessman. These experts were not simply wrong, they were drop-dead wrong.
Trump will not only reach the number of delegates it takes to win the nomination outright on Tuesday June 7th, he has won the most primary votes of any GOP presidential candidate in modern history. Based on astute political analysis, who would have guessed?
From Gateway Pundit:
George W. Bush won 10.8 million votes in the 2000 Republican primary. Donald Trump has won 11.1 million votes so far this year.
Donald Trump won Oregon tonight but Hillary Clinton barely squeaked out a win in Kentucky and lost to Bernie Sanders in Oregon....
... Trump has more primary wins (27), more overall state wins (30), the highest percentage of primary wins (87%), the highest percent of overall state wins (71%), the highest percent of primary delegates (74%), the highest percent of overall delegates (67%), and the highest percentage of votes (60%) than the final top four Republican and Democrat candidates.
B-b-but the ceiling
The same naysayers who have ardently predicted Trump could never win the nomination also forsee the presumpitve Republican nominee getting crushed in the general election.
But hell probably break another record for most votes ever by a candidate when he mops the floor with Killary in November.
Haters gonna hate.

He won Oregon 2 days ago. Washington state next Tuesday, final 5 two weeks later
Trump will win this in the biggest landslide in modern American history.
Dubya got more than Reagan?
So based on that, I guess Trump will be bailing out on the (s)election by the end of the week. I mean, what’s the point now that he’s been shown to be a ...................... Oh, wait.
“Drop-dead wrong.” Paging Mr. Hewitt, Mr. Hugh Hewiit. Please pick up the white courtesy phone.
Shhhhhh..don’t confuse them with facts
GO DONALD!
USA population increased by about 50 million from 1980 to 2000 though.
I expect Trump to win all but a handful of states. And those states ought to be singled out so that they don’t get any federal money that we can legally withhold from them. Trump knows that, to do things right, he can’t be afraid to punish the anti-Americans and reward the real Americans.
Those who oppose the mass deportation of illegals or the building of the wall will be committing treason and should be treated under the law as traitors.
Most of the media, academia, Big Labor, the DumboCrat Party leadership and “social justice” activists need to be put in notice. Anti-American activity will not be tolerated anymore. We will begin enforcing the laws against treason and conspiracy. We might have to build new prisons to house all the traitors, but I’d pay extra taxes to do that if I have to!
Yea, but Trump is actually is narrowing the margin to under 10% and he could win Oregon in the real election in November. Paint a blue state RED!

So is this a floor or a ceiling?
Can someone ask Karl Rove?
I’m confused.
b b b but he can’t overcome his negatives!....
Did the Republican party increase as well? I left it as soon as Boehner rammed the blank check omnibus bill through Congress, before the new members were seated. Republican since 1959, now independent.
“Based on astute political analysis, who would have guessed?”
I won’t lie. When I first read that Trump was running, I laughed out loud. Wish I could find that post. I’d print it off and frame it, just to keep myself humble.
I was one of the rare ones that on the day he announced I got behind him 100%. I remember my wife saying he was going to win the nomination and even though I supported him I kind of laughed. I stopped laughing a LONG time ago.
He can't overcome his negatives, but he can overcome Hillary's.
More soft or uncommitted delegates may align with Trump and he could actually attain the 1237 early if the state of Washington yields 40.
