Donald Trump is making it clear he's not considering Marco Rubio as his running mate. The Florida senator is an oft-mentioned name as a vice-presidential choice for the presumptive GOP nominee. Speculation heightened after The Washington Post reported Sunday on five names that Trump surrogate Ben Carson suggested were under consideration.
Trump took to Twitter Sunday evening to dismiss those claims.

“Gingrich was on a couple of times. He was always in command. He has the verbal WOW factor and he fights like hell. He knows policy, both foreign and domestic, inside and out. And Romney hates him. He doesnt bring a constitutency or a state, but he does bring the counter-argument to the Clintons we balanced the budget. He says, Like hell. We FORCED a balanced budget. He is fully ready to step in and be president if called upon. I also think hed take president of the Senate very seriously.”
No latinohomorino. Good.
I like Sarah Palin - I think that she really got a bum rap in ‘08. However, I can’t see Trump dealing with her and her voice every day. She’d be a great Secretary of the Interior - combined with Rick Perry at Energy, they’d open up the entire country and our territorial waters to fracking, etc., and make this country independent of the Saudis, Venezuela, etc. This would create a couple million good jobs and do a lot to fix the balance of payments deficit.
But Sarah as Veep...nope, to rich of a target for the media, too much of a distraction. It isn’t fair, but it is reality.
I have not seen Cathy McMorris Rodgers mentioned in the VP potential cholces. Any reason why not?
Best news all day.
“Do you really believe Trump is going to take Carsons vetting seriously? Its smoke.”
No, but then why bother?
“Do you really believe Trump is going to take Carsons vetting seriously? Its smoke.”
Read that sweet tweet this morning. Too bad he didn’t mention Lyn’ Ted as well when he wrote: “The @washingtonpost report on potential VP candidates is wrong. Marco Rubio and most others mentioned are NOT under consideration.”
Trump’s just screwing with people’s heads. He’s not going to send. Dr. Carson out to leak actual top candidates...
Do you have the list of the "real" conservatives?
Mr. T! Wise choice, that! ABR
Anyone But Rubio. The Senator lied to WTP once, and the dirty rotten traitor would not fail to do so a second time. Of course, it is your decision, but we beg you - not him, not now, not ever.
Sessions would be great in office, but as a candidate / as a political calculation, he'd be less than ideal. Alabama is a mortal lock for the GOP already, so he's no help there. And he's as old as Trump (69), so he doesn't have as much of a "he'll be ready to be the nominee in 8 years" quality. (Newt has some of the same problems at 74.)
Trump knows that Rubio, like Cruz, is ineligible because of the requirements of Article II of the Constitution.
Rubio was born in the US to 2 legally residing resident aliens. Per the Constitutions 14th Amendment he is a “born” citizen, (jus soli only). However Rubio is NOT a Natural Born Citizen, who,, by definition, must have 2 citizen parents.
Rubio, born to foreign nationals is ineligible.
The one thing Trump could do to make me not vote for him is to pick Cruz, Rubio or Jindal for Veep. I demand the constitution be obeyed.
Because she has three names.
Avoid three name females.
She is also a complete GOPE RINO tool useless fop.
The GOP itself is basically and endless pit of crap.
Newt would be the most loyal. Don’t know if that’s necessary in a VP. I think he needs to be in the middle of the action.
Because she’s a Cheap Labor Express stooge
Haley, too, but he wouldn’t have picked her anyway.
It gives Carson something to do.
You’re right. “theater” is the proper term.
