Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro on Saturday ordered authorities to seize factories that have stopped production and jail their owners, a day after declaring a state of emergency to combat the country's economic crisis.
"We must take all measures to recover productive capacity, which is being paralyzed by the bourgeoisie," he told a rally in Caracas.
"Anyone who wants to halt (production) to sabotage the country should get out, and those who do must be handcuffed and sent to the PGV (Venezuelan General Penitentiary)," he said.

Here is what they will say: “That’s not Socialism! The way Bernie wants to do it won’t allow those things to happen.”
THAT is what they always say. They think the other people are doing it wrong, and they can do it better.
They don’t realize their fundamental premise is fatally flawed, in much the same way someone trying to build a perpetual motion machine is so engrossed in the details of trying to make it work that they never even check their premises.
Right out of "Atlas Shrugged."
Who would have thought that Atlas Shrugged and 1984 would morph into documentaries?

Like using heroin.
"Okay folks, listen up. This is all documented throughout history by the most reliable historians, people without agendas. This is what heroin is. This is what heroin does. If you use it, you WILL get addicted to it. It WILL take over your life. It WILL ruin your life. It WILL make you more miserable than you can ever imagine. It WILL turn your entire family on you. It WILL cost you your job, your money, your reputation, your family, and eventually your life. (begins throwing Encyclopedia Brittania sized books on the table) Here is the history of heroin. Here are the fatality rates. Here are the legal and financial ramifications. Here is the thickest one...the ruined families, the devastation...and now we are going to watch movies of real heroin addicts and show what happens to them."
Most normal people would read those documents, watch the movies, and understand exactly what happens when you take heroin, and would never touch it. And when someone becomes a heroin addict, most normal people would say "How could they have done that? Everyone KNOWS what heroin will do to you, and what will happen. How could they do it?"
Yet, here we are. Socialism. This is what it should have been like:
"Okay folks, listen up. This is all documented throughout history by the most reliable historians, people without agendas. This is what socialism is. This is what socialism does. If you use it, you WILL get addicted to it. It WILL take over your life. It WILL ruin your life. It WILL make you more miserable than you can ever imagine. It WILL turn your entire family on you. It WILL cost you your job, your money, your reputation, your family, and eventually your life. (begins throwing Encyclopedia Brittania sized books on the table) Here is the history of socialism. Here are the fatality rates. Here are the legal and financial ramifications. Here is the thickest one...the ruined families, the devastation...and now we are going to watch movies of real socialist countries and show what happens to them."
Kind of fits, doesn't it?
But these aren't normal times, and these aren't normal people.
There is a large portion of the American population that have sat through the class described above (for socialism, at least) the information is available, well documented, many have seen with their own eyes (never mind a movie or documentary) how evil socialism is, yet...they don't see, understand, or simply outright deny or ignore the information, and are ready to embrace socialism.
It is stunning and scary, the fact that people could have this happening right in front of their eyes, on the news, on the Internet, sometimes even have lived through it and experienced what it does, yet long for it still.
Can anyone explain to me how Heroin is any different from Socialism? (including, of course, the heroin-like high that some people will get from a boot stamping on a human face - forever.)
More like instructional manuals.
That is a great analogy.
Well said.
The beatings will continue until morale improves.
But all that -- ALL that -- is not only acceptable, it is REQUIRED for the sea change that is Marxism to displace the horrible, inequitable condition that is capitalism. People will die. People will be miserable. People will see the very roots of their cultures torn out and cast aside while a tyrannical master beats, cajoles, or murders them into submission.
Then, slowly, the brighter light begins to dawn as the collectivist sun rises. All are equal, free to pursue their dreams of making mankind better and giving their all to the betterment of the Collective. Their mundane needs are met or even sacrificed, but what is giving up a few creature comforts -- like food, shelter, privacy, freedom ... -- if you've contributed to the evolution of society?
Make no mistake: the socialist/communist/globalist cabal will NEVER let history dictate its trajectory. It is determined to impose its vision on the world and drag it kicking, screaming, and bloody into its hellish paradise.
Well, somebody has to produce stuff for the populace to eat, and wear!
That’s right; for oil-producing countries Mexico and Venezuela are dumps...
Nice post!
CA....
Both seem real popular with Millennials.
Coincidence? I think not.
That is all so true, IronJack.
They view freedom (not tyranny) as detrimental to men. That does indeed explain everything.
There are people who look at the opposing camps of capitalism and socialism as being a Ying and a Yang, and many of these people are too willing to extend the air of an equal option to socialism, which it does not deserve, having failed miserably over and over again, while capitalism has shown over and over again that it works when allowed to function.
That extension of legitimacy to socialism is a grave mistake, one that conservatives make in so many arenas. We allow the faulty fundamental premise to stand without question, and liberals build an entire fortress of lies and deceits on top of it, and we spend our days jousting with those extensions of fundamental falsehood instead of attacking those foundations.
And we know they aren’t being taught history, Chode, that is for sure. Without the historical underpinnings which can’t be denied, it is easy for socialists to dismiss critics as ignorant propagandists.
But it could NEVER happen here.
I suppose none of those who are for both socialism and heroin use have reconciled that the government will likely (though one never knows) supply free heroin, but it will still have to be purchased or obtained for something in exchange.

The idea that only the uneducated or dark skinned take this route is rather uneducated.
That is a very good example. But the kids are not taught the truth in school about socialism. They are taught that it is wonderful and that capitalism is bad. My grandson has been taught in public school in CA since first grade that capitalism and corporations are evil.
That was the problem in the article. The issue that caused the new edict was a brewery having to shut down because they couldn’t get barley.
It’s like an old Italian lady told me about Rome and that old saying that it takes a dictator to make the trains run on time. The trains never ran on time under Mussolini, you just weren’t allowed to SAY that they weren’t on time.
