That is all so true, IronJack.

They view freedom (not tyranny) as detrimental to men. That does indeed explain everything.

There are people who look at the opposing camps of capitalism and socialism as being a Ying and a Yang, and many of these people are too willing to extend the air of an equal option to socialism, which it does not deserve, having failed miserably over and over again, while capitalism has shown over and over again that it works when allowed to function.

That extension of legitimacy to socialism is a grave mistake, one that conservatives make in so many arenas. We allow the faulty fundamental premise to stand without question, and liberals build an entire fortress of lies and deceits on top of it, and we spend our days jousting with those extensions of fundamental falsehood instead of attacking those foundations.

Exactly! The government should not supply ANY of its population's needs, except the very limited few enumerated in the Constitution. Government can only expand by robbing citizens of their liberty and their property -- the very condition our forefathers waged a revolution against.

Anyone who asks "Why doesn't the government do something?" is a traitor to our nation's vision. It is not the government's responsibility to do ANYTHING, except provide for the common defense and regulate international commerce. All other functions -- save those explicitly laid out in our founding charters -- are usurped from The People, and only at a cost of our cherished freedom.

A government controlling light bulbs and toilet flushes? A government regulating hairdressers and nail salons? A government taxing people to pay for pornographic "art" and perverted media? How can anyone say that this is a government "of the people, for the people, and by the people"?
