U.S. Sen. Ben Sasse has carved out a name for himself on the national stage as a leader in the Never Trump Republican faction.
On the home front, however, the Nebraska freshman found himself rebuked Saturday by party loyalists upset at his call for a third-party candidate to arise and give conservatives such as himself an alternative to Trump in the fall election...
If you support a third-party candidate, you are going to elect Hillary Clinton and she is going to nominate the next three or four members of the U.S. Supreme Court, said Pat McPherson, an Omaha Republican.
The delegates also went one step further in making clear they were lining up behind Trump. They roundly rejected a counter-resolution that sought to condemn the presumptive GOP presidential nominee for making degrading comments toward women and minorities. (The resolution was submitted by people who opposed the earlier resolution.)
One Republican said it was not their place to be thought police in this presidential election.
Trump claimed more than 60 percent of the GOP vote in Nebraskas presidential primary Tuesday.

I wonder how much it hurts when you step on your crank.
He needs a good bitch-slapping.
OOOPs!
I am getting sick and tired of these GOPe scum calling themselves “conservatives.” They are not conservative in any way, shape, or form and are using the standard leftist playbook of trying to define the debate by defining the words and terms.
Lol! My Nebraska political contact say Sasse should have stayed a professor. As it is, he is going to get schooled.
He was b!+# slapped. He deserves many more.
I assume when Sasse is forced to come around, he’ll be another one of those who will sit on his behind and expect Trump to come and kiss his ring.
Hmm..., Only if Ben Sasse is looking to give the presidency to Hillary. We learned of the failure of third party losses with another guy named Perot. NFW...
Apparently, their definition of ‘conservative’ is ‘trade deals’ and ‘globalism’.
I have NEVER thought of those things as being conservative.
A trade deal cannot be conservative unless it preserves the wealth, stature, and viability of our nation.
Globalism can never be conservative since it is in direct contradiction of our American independence.
He’s not a conservative, he’s not a republican.
Kick him out.
I can’t recall which day it was but Dennis Praeger really took the Never Trump people to the woodshed at the beginning of his show. He said he did not like Trump, but was voting for him and could not understand why his colleagues like Medved, Levin, Kristol, Goldberg would say they would never vote for Trump.
He should have added Limbaugh and Hewitt to that chorus of people who pretend they are neutral, but are not.
I hope Sasse gets kicked out of the party.
{Lol! My Nebraska political contact say Sasse should have stayed a professor. As it is, he is going to get schooled.}
Not schooled.... schlonged.
>>Globalism can never be conservative since it is in direct contradiction of our American independence.<<
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
You are totally correct.
Globalists have tried to steal the “Conservative” brand and slap it on their own poisonous product.
Agreed!
These self labeled “conservatives”, among them Sasse, wouldn’t recognize a core conservative principle if it jumped up and bit them in the ass. Mouthing conservative is a cliche’ to get them elected.
I believe the rich are deeply worried about Donald Trump hurting their Foreign investments that they use manufacturing out of the country and ship into the country to be sold. So far the rich have bough everyone but Donald Trump. Even Mark Cuban is a Foreign investor who did support DOnald Trump at first. While the rich take our jobs out of the country, they are importing rapefugees, foreign visa workers, and illegal immigrants.
Looks like the Nebraska Republicans kicked some(S)ass(E) today.
So many establishment pukes have refused to read the handwriting on the wall, and have wound up crushed underfoot, either directly or indirectly by Trump.
I’ve said it before. These pampered princes haven’t had a real leader for so long, that many of them don’t know how to act when a real boss finally shows up.
Guess some of them will have to find out the hard way.
I would not call him a conservative.
Sasse is carrying water for Romney. Now he’s :not talking about Trump:? What a phony and coward.
I’m curious what is the process for expulsion from the party? Certainly Romney should be removed from the GOP after his comments regarding the presumptive nom earlier in the week.
