Jim Robinson, the founder of popular conservative internet discussion board Free Republic that was founded in 1997, threw his support behind Donald Trump for president on Thursday......
Our overriding mission on Free Republic is to preserve, protect and defend (conserve) God, family, countryand all that that entails (refer to the Declaration, Constitution, and our Judeo-Christian American heritage for details).
Our most immediate task we must undertake at this time is keep corrupt, godless, treasonous, America-hating communists like Hillary Clinton out of power.
Our very survival as a free nation depends upon it.
That means FR is going all in to defeat Hillary/Bernie, et al, by supporting our America-first nominee Donald Trump to the hilt.

Follow up: Have YOU seen his Form. N550???
Nobody has shown it, because he has NONE as required to be an American citizen. I have one hanging on my wall, proudly !!!
If certain Freepers are anti-Trump, how can they be described as decent or honorable?
Trump is the only thing standing in the way of a third Obama term (under Clinton or Sanders).
Long-time Freepers are some of the most well informed people on the planet. If some of them are still opposed to Trump at this late hour, and with everything that's at stake, they ought to resign in disgrace.
I've been reading here for over ten years, and have never seen that handle, although Freeper nathanbedford is well known, and practically a legend around these parts.
It was a typo, as I explained.
Perhaps you can include a category for “polite requests.” I read Livius’ message to JR asking how to delete his/her? account with plenty of thanks. That’s a lot different than an all-cap “#%^& YOU!” opus.
Kinda reminds me of what happened back in 2000 when the media declared Gore the winner in Florida, even though the polls in the panhandle were still open for another hour. That dirty pool dispirited and disenfranchised many panhandle voters from the election. Bush would have won Florida by a much larger margin if that had not happened.
There are several states, including California, that haven't had their primaries yet. The media (both liberal and conservative) and even FR are disenfranchising those voters by telling them that their primary votes for anyone other than Trump in the don't matter.
Now, if this "all Trump, all the time" policy is simply a case of learning from one's mistakes, then admit you were wrong for not lining up 1000% behind Romney in 2012 and move on. Admitting one's errors, repenting and talking about lessons learned might help calm the fire in the belly of a lot those who have supported other GOP candidates up to this point.
But if all that is offered is arrogance, bluster, bullying and zotting, then good luck with that.
I remember when I was on the short list of trump supporters and sure I’d get zotted.
Trump is the nominee. Suck it up.

Just a point of fact. People who are American citizens at birth aren’t naturalized, therefore, they don’t need a Form N550.
Were you that adamant in your support of Romney back in May 2012? I recall the opposite.
I regret that I didn’t clampdown harder on the NeverRomney crowd after he won the nomination. NeverRomney gave us a second term for Obama. Big mistake. NeverTrump will give us a third term for the Clinton crime family and a continuation of Obama’s anti-America policies. No thanks. Not making that mistake again. Those who can’t live with that can post elsewhere.
You should consider hammering this point often and hard when people come to say and say "But Trump is....". It will help other Freepers see your observations and motivations are equally heartfelt and logical.
When people are open to repentance, admit their mistakes and stand firm on hard earned lessons, it makes the medicine they're serving up much easier to swallow than simply saying "Suck it up" or "Deal with it."
Have a restful weekend, Jim.
“It was a typo, as I explained.”
I’m sorry, did you post that explanation to me? I didn’t see it, but I did see that oddly spelled name in the list of recent zotees. It’s even clickable.
Well said. We can’t gain anything by pushing good-hearted and sincere conservatives away.
I was neverRomney until after Benghazi when I came to believe that not even Romney could be worse than allowing our own Seals to be murdered. Nonetheless, Romney lived down to my expectation and began his rope-a-dope...not remembering that Mohammed Ali finally came out swinging.
I supported Virgil Goode for most of that time, the Constitution Party candidate, and I promoted him against Romney for the most part.
I deeply respect Free Republic. I did then, too. But, do you remember the RomneyTruthFile? He really was ‘in your face’ toward conservatives.
I wouldn’t blame me or you or anyone on Free Republic.
Romney was a bad general with a lousy battle plan and an unwillingness to fight....his enemies. He spent most of his time destroying his friends.
To be honest with you, Trump has NOT attacked the supporters of other candidates he has vanquished. He’s tried hard to bring them into the fold.
So, I don’t think you should accept any of the blame for Romney’s terrible leadership. Nor should you apologize for allowing Free Republic to FAIRLY debate the issues.
I think ROMNEY lost Romney’s race, and not those of us who were trying to steer him in the right direction.
The argument against Trump is always that he *may* betray us, ... but those making that argument ... somehow completely ignore the endless ... betrayals already done to us ... by the pols they want us to keep trusting instead.
He was and is CANADIAN at birth, hello!!!
No, he was an American citizen born in Canada to an American mother. Right in line with the Immigration & Naturalization Act of 1952, which was in force when he was born.
As an American citizen at birth, he never had to be naturalized.
The question of whether he is considered *natural born* is a different question than whether he was born an American citizen. Which he was.
Nah, Cruz’s mom was a Canadian citizen when she gave birth to Ted.
>>Cruzs mom was a Canadian citizen when she gave birth to Ted.<<
Sorry, she wasn’t. She never renounced her US citizenship, nor did she affirmatively request or gain Canadian citizenship (which also involved a fee). The voter roll that their family appeared on was residence (i.e., just their address in town) based.
