Nearly a half-dozen Louisiana delegates who previously supported Marco Rubio released a letter on Thursday pledging to back Donald Trump at the convention and calling on the presumptive Republican nominee to choose Rubio as his running mate.
"Previously being undeclared after supporting Sen. Marco Rubio, the five undersigned delegates feel it is important to coalesce around one candidate and begin the process of party unity for the ultimate goal of defeating the Democratic challenger in the fall," wrote the "Rubio Five."
The letter, which was obtained by the Washington Examiner, continued, "We firmly believe the process of achieving consensus involves not only supporting the presumptive nominee but also asking him to listen to the will of the other voters who may not have originally supported him."

If Trump even considers Rubio for anything, I will question Trump’s ability to gauge character.
“Children of foreign nationals are not natural born citizens.
Rubio, Jindal, Cruz and Haley are ineligible.”
Thank you.
(It is a pity that this has to be repeatedly stated, as it is patently obvious.)
Born May 28, 1971
Parents: Mario and Oriales Rubio
Both parents Cuban citizens.
Parents naturalized in 1975, four years after Marco was born. "
Anchor Babies are not Natural Born Citizens, Marco is NOT eligible to be President of the United States.
Trump doesn’t need Rubio to win FL. Obama beat Romney by less than 1% with record black turnout. Hillary won’t get that turnout.
I have only one vote in November but I would like to toss this name out for thoughts as a VP.
This person seems to have had a rough start until he became of age. His being from Ohio and seeing endorsements from many notables in Ohio, Wisconsin and Texas, to his present position, suggest a closer look!

Why, why not?
It’s amazing how many “constitutionalists” are willing to ignore this vital protection the founders put in there because it excludes “their” guy.
I still think Scott Walker will be the best choice. He squashed those unions like a bug. He is very popular in a state that usually pulls for the DNC. I think Trump will win PA and Ohio and Florida. Wisconsin will provide additional security in case he doesn’t win all three.
Bargain this down, Rubio for ambassador to Cuba.
Hilarious how you people think you don’t need or want Rubio.
He would actually be a pretty decent pick. He is a Senator in a swing state of Florida, he is Hispanic, he’s very knowledgeable in foreign policy, he’s young, and he’s extremely articulate.
BTW, are you any of you concerned at all about Trump’s top fund raiser being on the board of Goldman Sachs for 17 years, afiliated with Soros, and a key contributor of the Democratic establishment for the last few decades?
Or is that somehow OK with you?
To win Florida he needs to put on the ticket and on stage!

She was in early, for Trump.
I want Trump to choose someone who opposes Amnesty, opposes Obamacare, and supports our individual, God-given right to keep and bear arms. That shouldn’t be too much to ask.
Rubio? Jeb? Kasich? All three are completely unacceptable.
After all the hard work, dedication, and effort Mr. Trump has put into his well deserved win, it would be senseless to toss aside by agreeing to see Little Marco as a running mate. This, more than anything else, would be the nail in his coffin. The Rube has deep issues with his lies and deception. He will NEVER be thought as qualified for any job of responsibility. IF Mr. Trump should actually put aside his animosity toward the short guy, this voter would feel betrayed BIG TIME. Like Sen Cruz, the Rube is no NBC as one poster has already proclaimed.
He is ineligible, so not only no but hell no.
“For the hundredth time........the Gang of Eight bill is identical to what Trump has proposed. He simply uses a dumbed-down, elementary explanation. He will send them back, bring the good ones back in and create a pathway to citizenship if they stay good. It is also referred to as touchback.”
Yup. He sounds exactly like Rubio on this issue.
But don’t bother the Trumpets with such trivial details.
None of it matters.
As long as he’s not part of the establishment, that’s all that matters!
Of course, you might want to take a look at his top fund raiser and ask yourself why he’s hiring a guy that is afiliated with Soros and has done nothing but work for the Democratic Party.
Ironic - delegates bribing the nominee...
Perhaps, on Doug Ducey. Would have to know more about him, like is he eligible? If so, at least he has no negatives with me as of yet.
Before Cruz dropped out Trump could have possibly made the Rube VP to obtain his delegates, now he doesn’t need them. If Trump thinks he needs to secure his right flank Cruz, Walker or Scott are good choices. The Rube is only an option to throw a bone to the scum that worships at the alter of the Republican Party.
Sorry, li'l feller... but: you have to be at least this tall to get on this ride. ;)

Nonsense. The Gang of 8 bill was 844 pages. Trump has proposed nothing like that.
News flash. The primary is over. Cruz lost. Time to get on with the task of beating the Butcher of Benghazi. Or go ahead and continue campaigning for Hillary. Those are your two choices.
And what is the reason for taking on a VP candidate who could not even win his own state? Even Ted Cruz and Kasich took theirs.
There is no there there in this.
I’m no fan of Rubio but the reasons would be:
1)Suburban women like him
2)Popular in South Florida - Big one there
3)Hispanic who can drive the Dems nuts campaigning for Trump on Spanish Tv.
