Election 2016: After vowing to kill coal jobs, Hillary Clinton is now trying to recast herself as Sissy Spacek in Coal Miners Daughter. But coal workers aint buying it, and shes hearing their wrath while campaigning in West Virginia.
At a CNN town-hall-style forum in March, Clinton asserted: Were going to put a lot of coal miners and coal companies out of business.
Coal country hasnt forgotten the threat from the Democratic front-runner.
A laid-off coal miner earlier this week confronted Clinton over her derogatory statement during a campaign stop in West Virginia, which holds its Democratic primary May 10.
I just want to know how you can say youre going to put a lot of coal miners out of jobs, and then come in here and tell us how youre going to be our friend...
...Trump, now the presumptive GOP nominee, pounced on Clintons growing weakness in Appalachia.
I watched her three or four weeks ago when she was talking about the miners as if they were just numbers and she was talking about how she wants the mines closed and she will never let them work again, Trump said after winning Indiana.
Let me tell you: The miners in West Virginia and Pennsylvania, which was so great to me last week, and Ohio and all over, theyre going to start to work again, believe me, he vowed. Youre going to be proud again to be miners.
Ohio and Pennsylvania voted for Barack Obama in both the 2008 and 2012 presidential elections. But if miners there scorn Clinton like they are in West Virginia and Kentucky, Democrats could suffer a reversal of fortune in the region that could be the pivotal factor in this election.

MSM will just say she just ‘mis-spoke’ considering all the pressure she’s under.
West Virginia is a small state with only a handful of electoral votes—5, I think.
Once the primary is over, the concerns of its residents will be forgotten by the DIMS.
She eats a lot more than that.
After her Were going to put a lot of coal miners and coal companies out of business comment, she was confronted by a laid-off coal miner and responded What I said was totally out of context from what I meant because I have been talking about helping coal country for a very long time.
Now what the hell does What I said was totally out of context from what I meant mean?! I’ve heard of taking a statement out of context, but how do you take YOURSELF out of context?
Cankles is so used to the teflon nature of being a Clinton that she thinks she can say anything. And history shows that she’d generally be right in that belief. Up to now no one has been allowed to say certain things about the Clintons. Trump is changing that. People will see that you can expose Hillary’s crimes and no lightning bolt will come from the sky to zap you.
If she makes it to November, she’ll be eating a lot of crow over her anti-Bill of Rights BS. Only a drooling, blithering idiot would believe that there is such a thing as “too much freedom”. I’m an American. I don’t need a freeloading, commie public servant spewing that kind of communist nonsense at me.
To “misspeak” would be to accidentally blurt out “$hit” when you meant to say “shut”. But no one “misspeaks” a whole paragraph.
If they do, they’re not totally in control of their faculties.
Doing a little sidestep is more like it.
Same goes for the “out of context” meme.
They’re both liberal excuses for getting caught in a lie! They “misspeak” a lot!
I just saw a news article on Facebook: Yoko Ono says she had sex with Hillary in the 70s. Let’s see her deny this.
Ono must have rocks in her head.
Trump needs to come out NOW and draw a bright line between himself and the left’s Luddite imbecilic energy policies (which hillary-dillary is simply rubberstamping). Tell America that we’re going to return to sane energy policies!
It’s liberal talk media for making excuses for Hillary when she flips on what she’s said before. IOW, it’s the liberal version of telling a lie.
Then Gov. Manchin who started out as a Republican switched parties and then endorsed and voted for 0bama twice after he ,, 0bama said exactly the same thing about coal companies , the industry and their workers .
Precisely! Killary has long enjoyed a hugh pass from the media. Me thinks Donald Trump is gonna change that.
Sorry to be so crass... but it's called "$hit for brains."
I know there are a lot of patriotic Americans in WV, but for the life of me I don’t understand how they can be hoodwinked by the likes of Manchin and Tomblin. They just don’t get that a Rat is a Rat, no matter what they tell you every 4-6 years to get re-elected.
In her DC globalist bubble, she can’t FATHOM that these fifth generation miners don’t live or work like the Molly Maguires. This mining is a way of life. Solar panels is a way of getting by.
“Theyre both liberal excuses for getting caught in a lie! They misspeak a lot!”
Since lying is their default position, mis-speaking usually means they’ve been caught telling the truth.
