In May of 1988 Gov. Michael Dukakis had a 10-point lead over his Republican rival, the same margin that Hillary Clinton has today.
He lost. And she could, too.
Don't comfort yourself too much by looking at the horse race polls. Those are about Donald Trump's weakness, not Clinton's strength. A fresh Washington Post poll shows that only 37 percent of American voters trust her, and the number is dropping -- even before her well-fed opponents have begun to pound the airwaves with slimy attack ads on her.
And let's face it: It is not beyond the imagination to think that a fresh scandal could emerge. Clinton has long been a warrior for good causes, from child poverty to health care.

But Moran’s attacks on Trump are what we will hear all election.
If Hillary can’t beat Bernie, she will get her sizable rear end handed to her by Trump.
The Bern 4 VP!
“The Trump nightmare”
Nope. No bias there.
The author doesn't seem to understand that one can champion a worthwhile cause while doing it legally.

IF Hillary did pick the Bern, would it, in your opinion, change the equation ? I’m honestly not sure, but I worry it could up the base energy.
I was looking at the Rasmussen site a short while ago and FWIW, they came out with their number of only 29% of those surveyed think that America is on the right track. This does not seem to be a particularly encouraging legacy for a Democrat to run on after nearly eight years of Obama. And that number really has not changed terribly much over the last two or three years (been very poor).
I delivered the Newark Star-Ledger over 50 years ago when there was no alternative to the liberal media. I’m glad their editorial board are now the insignificant minority opinion.
Listened to him for many, many years. He was a practical conservative. And I’m confident he wouldn’t appreciate Levin’s hostility towards Trump and his supporters — where Levin was arguably his protégé.
Clinton has long been a warrior for good causes, from child poverty to health care.
I almost lost my supper over this line. There’s some really delusional people in this country.
