Seems like things are trending big in Trump's direction. Can't take anything for granted but seems like Trump has awakened the sleeping giant!

"You hear that Mr. Cruz? That is the sound of inevitability."

Cruz was my guy and has run a ghastly campaign. I don’t recognize him anymore. He’s that bad. He couldn’t get elected to clean the streets.

I remember supporting Jack Kemp against Bush 1 in 1988. He was supposedly heir to Reagan, he said. Never gained traction. Had to switch to Bush, unfortunately.

But Cruz just poured manure all over himself and never stopped. He’s become a parody, a joke, and an absurdity. So Trump is my guy.

Not so fast. A new poll shows Cruz winning big:

I'm not sure rally's are an accurate predictor of total vote. They show how enthusiastic the hard core supporters are, but that's not what wins elections. Unenthusiastic but pragmatic voters are often decisive.

Bernie's rallies have been much larger and more enthusiastic than Hillaries, but she's still winning.

It's interesting that the 538.com "polls plus" model gives Cruz over a 70% chance of winning. I'm not sure what makes up the "plus" exactly, but I'm not sure I'd write Cruz off in Indiana just because of a 1/2 empty rally Friday.

And the truth is that people like to be with the winner. It is hard to muster large support for the one you know will never win. Anyone on the fence or not previously paying attention will see Trump’s momentum and go with him

Jeb Bush Re-emerges to Talk Sad Trash About Trump

"Bush, who has endorsed Ted Cruz, said that he hoped it would not get that far, adding that he did not believe Trump could get 1,237 delegates to vote for him on the first ballot at the convention, “and if he doesn't do that, there are a whole lot of people who don’t believe he’s the proper guy.”

Don’t be a loser by voting for this Cruz loser. Look at the half empty room. Does that remind you of anyone? Remember Jeb Bush’s “crowds”?

It is still a nail-biter for me. I really want Trump to win Indiana. I will really be disappointed if he doesn’t.

This should be embarassing to busTED. However with his delusion, he will never admit defeat.

And this joker thinks he can beat Hilary, never mind Trump???? A person still willing to vote for Cruz now with all we know about him has to be even more crazy than Cruz which is not good.

An astute FReeper posted: ....a Texas friend worked with TX Solicitor General cRruz, said no one likes cRuz, or says anything positive about him.....said cRuz looks at everything through a “what’s best for cRuz” filter....

Rings true....based on everything we now know about this character Cruz.

It's a slapdown of Texans, inveigled into voting Cruz into the Senate, promising to be their voice in DC, saying he was a scrappy outsider running against a wealthy opponent (who just happened to get G/S to hand him over a million dollars).

After only 10 months in the Senate, his promises and his constituents were forgotten.......his long-laid plans for the presidency commenced. Like it was an afterthought he just happened to glom onto.

As Paul Manafort said: "Cruz's massive NE primaries losses hammered
the nails into his coffin; Indiana will show him he's in it."

Once upon a time, I was mostly indifferent to Trump vs. Cruz. Sure, I leaned a little more towards Trump because of his real-world experience, but I would have accepted Cruz. Cruz's campaign convinced me. His campaign was all about him. Cruz was the "principled conservative" (no definition of what that means, though), whose win was so important that he was willing to lie and cheat to get it. That disconnect between lying and cheating and being principled turned me against Cruz. His slogan--"TRUSTED"--shows him to be no different than shady salesmen who profess their honesty and integrity in smooth oily voices while convincing you to spend hundreds of dollars on worthless junk.

Trump, on the other hand, has never made his campaign about him. His slogan, "Make America Great Again," places himself as an ally in giving us the country we have been telling our deaf politicians for decades that we want. For example, when we, the people, became alarmed and started demanding action about high levels of immigration, the politicians' response was to open the floodgates and try to push amnesty! So Trump made a comprehensive immigration policy part of his platform. We're working together on the Trump Train to fix the problems and bring vision and greatness back to America!

Cruz,s campaign is like the guy drinking at bar after closing time not noticing the lights going off, and the bartender saying, you don’t have to go home but you can’t stay here.

>>only a few hundred showed up...

Remember, when they speak of their “great ground game”, they don’t mean “voters”. That’s what separates “consistent conservatism(tm)” from real conservatism.

Can you imagine having a candidate where nobody shows up for a rally? That’s kind of a problem don’t ya think?

Also, take note of these quotes from the article:

"Desperation breeds anxiety; anxiety begets a specific strain of blame-casting, and that blame-casting creates visible anger manifested as misery and denial.

The denial is emotional, dangerously emotional.

Intellectual honesty, logic and even reality itself must be avoided. This is the reason why we have warned everyone to stay out of the blast radius from the final stages of their rage. Quite simply, it’s toxic."

"However, the type of anger held by our ideological opponents, is intensely toxic and dangerous – and they don’t care who gets damaged as they self-destruct. Avoid these voices at all costs."

"That crossing of the ‘inevitability factor’ threshold is what we have outlined as the most dangerous time. The angriest moment in the denial phase is right before the ideologically entrenched accept an inevitable outcome. Be of good cheer; enjoy the moments and cherish the associations. Walk with a light heart of joy.

Meanwhile ignore the screams, wailing and gnashing of teeth, and take the long way around the camps of the haters."

The rest of the article is filled with many facts and well founded opinions, but those quotes jumped out for other reasons. I believe that they explain a lot of what we see in many places...
