Republican presidential contender Ted Cruz has tapped former technology executive Carly Fiorina as his running mate in the race for the White House.
The Texas senator plans to formally unveil his pick for vice president Wednesday afternoon in Indianapolis.
That's according to a Republican with direct knowledge of the plan, speaking on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized speak before the official announcement.
Cruz is trying to generate momentum for his struggling campaign. GOP front-runner Donald Trump swept primaries in five Northeastern states on Tuesday.
Cruz has been mathematically eliminated from winning enough delegates to clinch the Republican presidential nomination before primary voting ends.
But he's pushing to claim the nomination at a contested national convention in July.
The 61-year-old Fiorina endorsed Cruz earlier in the year after abandoning her own presidential bid. The former chief executive at Hewlett-Packard has never held elected office.

...and it seemed to make Ted cringe a tiny bit (as if he was saying "not here in public... cool it sweetie)
-And that little happy tune Carly sang... it sounded like a woman in love! And note the lyrics:
"I'm so happy ... cause we travel on the bus all day... we get to play... we get to play..."!
-That time, about 6 weeks ago when Ted was asked about having affairs,
... he had SUCH a pained smile as he started to answer,
... but Carly jumped in and answered the question for him.
... That also struck me as a controlling woman with a firm grip on "her man".
-And lets not forget, that time Carly and Ted were cris-crossing a campaign state together
in Ted's bus while Heidi was in some other state. Then Heidi canceled all her "other state campaigning",
returned to Ted's side, and pushed Carly out of Ted's bus!
I think AP/Yahoo got the title of this story ALMOST correct, except since Ted has already been eliminaTED from POTUS...

should have said...
"Cruz 'taps' Carly Fiorina as his personal 'play'mate"
(But should they ever surface, my money is on Ted being the submissive one.)
Is Carly acting Cougarly?
Is it the price of jumping in to defend him against reporters inquiry about The National Enquirer adultery accusations?

Maybe were wrong. Perhaps she's a substitute mommy for the icky one.
That actually makes sense. He can’t trust the same young, pretty striving girls he has been tapping. He sure can’t trust the hookers. Like celebrities in Hollywood, he knows he needs someone who has as much to lose as he does. I forget if Carly is currently married. If she is, so much the better.
She did defend him against the affairs pretty intimately, didn’t she?
