MANCHESTER, N.H. —Texas Sen. Ted Cruz will announce on Wednesday afternoon that former presidential rival Carly Fiorina has agreed to be his running mate should he win the GOP presidential nomination.
Sources confirmed to WMUR political director Josh McElveen and political reporter John DiStaso that Fiorina, who has been a supporter of Cruz for several weeks, will be the focus of the announcement that Cruz intends to make in Indiana Wednesday afternoon.

There is nothing illegal about a candidate selecting a VP candidate before the convention. It doesn’t happen often but has happened before and there is nothing that makes it “illegal”.

He could announce any kind of "intention" based on winning the primary.
But he is mathematically eliminated. He isn't winning.
He is being a sore loser and is making moves that will keep the opposition to Clinton fragmented and warring.
Fiorina does not bring even one delegate. If I were Trump, I'd be tempted not to even mention it....at the most a shrug and a "so what?"

The claim was that it was illegal to name your running mate before becoming the nominee. The fact is that it isn't. Now in Cruz's case it's an act of complete desperation and will be looked at as such, and really makes him look ridiculous. But it isn't illegal.
Cruz is looking like Reagan. Unfortunately, it’s the 1976 Reagan, and Cruz looks more foolish, because he should have learned from the 1976 Reagan/Schweiker “ticket” not to try this. As someone posted in a vanity yesterday, he got my vote, but he’s done, and I’m willing to move on.
