Trump Wins Tonight Were YUGE! (PA, CT, RI, MD and DE were CLOSED Primaries)

Posted on 04/26/2016 6:25:10 PM PDT by SamAdams76

It appears that Trump is on track to achieve around 60 per cent of the vote in all five primary states tonight. He will almost certainly be well over 50% in all of them. With two other "contenders" in the race, that is quite an achievement.

But these wins were UNDERSTATED.

Remember a couple months ago when many were saying that Trump only did well in OPEN primaries, when Independents and Democrats were allowed to vote?

Well all five primaries tonight were CLOSED to Republicans only! Democrats were not allowed to vote in any of them. Rhode Island did allow Independents to pull a Republican ballot but any registered Democrat was not allowed. The other four states, you had to be a registered Republican.

That includes New York from last week by the way, where Trump had 60 per cent of that vote as well.

The significance of this is that in November, we will see millions of Independents and disaffected Democrats crossing over to vote for Donald Trump.

The notion that Trump "can't win" a general election against Shrillary Clinton has been shattered with Trump's very strong victories in six Republican only primaries over the past two weeks.

The race now moves to Indiana next week which will truly be the last stand of Cruz and Kasich. If Trump wins there, he'll be over 1,000 delegates and will be in glide path to nomination on the first ballot.

Closed states. Get it? That means only registered people to their party can vote.
Naw, you cant.

Also, because Mexico is brutal to illegal immigrants. Hypocritically, it expects us to welcome its illegal emigrants.

“He has 30,000 less votes in Pa than Sanders and Sanders is getting crushed in Pa by Clinton. Cruz and Kasich need to get out now and get behind Trump or that bitch is gonna win in a landslide.”

Ain’t gonna happen. Trump had more votes than Hillary in OH and FL.

AND Trump is very close to votes in CT to Hillary, which means Trump can make CT a battleground state.

Cruz can’t.

I’ll give Cruz another week. He loses Indiana and he must get out. If Loser Cruz doesn’t get out after losing Indiana he will be nothing short of a Hillary surrogate. I’d say that is the appropriate time to start a blacklist and promise to end the careers of Cruz and his supporters. Cruz is playing with fire. I hope for all concerned he does not get burned. What’s good for the goose...

Again, these were CLOSED primaries. There are more registered Democrats in PA then Republicans. Had the primary been open, many of those Democrats and Independents would also have voted for Trump.

In NY last week, many voters were disappointed to find that they could not take a Republican ballot because they were not registered Republicans.

Nationwide (which includes open primaries), the Democratic vote is WAY DOWN.

Does anyone notice that you've been shilling for Cruz since you arrived on our little forum?

Did you notice how many more votes Trump had than Cruz (Edward the Third) in all 5 states? If your point is that the Democrat would beat Trump (not valid, since independents didn't vote) imagine how badly Felito would lose.

does anybody else notice that in all those closed states that he won, that Donald Trump loses to each of the dem candidates except for Bernie in Deleware

Do you even know what primaries are?

You cannot predict general election matchups based on primary votes.

Besides, Cruz lost to Trump in the South, where he's supposed to be the most feared.

Good point. Trump's excuse, I suppose, is that he has had his hands full fighting his own party, Uniparty's MSM and a series of GOP errand boys ........... Cruzich: toast photo: toast crap.jpg As usual we won't get a gracious concession from "Ted" following his rout, but from here on if he doesn't drop out, now he's Hillary's lick-spittle. Trump needs to bring his guns up on the Democrats.

Voter registration in Pa is about 4:3:1 D:R:I. Currently it is about 5:3 D:R in total votes. Now that could change dramatically if Philly came in early. But if it doesn’t change then PA is basically out of reach unless Trump wins all 1 million+ independents and others.

I think the whole closed primary issue goes against the whole mantra of Trump only winning liberal states. Of course there are more democrats in these states than Republicans===but the Republicans that do exist are choosing the candidate.

Unless Cruz thinks all these Republicans are liberals as well. I guess Rush Limbaugh can’t be heard in Connecticut or Maryland!

Cruz was below 15% in some of the states tonight!! He was DESTROYED!

I'm thinking that Republicans who are up for election in November better jump on the Trump Train FAST !!

That’s not true. Turnout in primaries correlates with General Election turnout. Up to this point R turnout has been good, probably a lot of that due to Trump.

"Brutal" isn't quite the word.

"Massacre" is better.
