Suggesting that Bernie Sanders has been treated unfairly by the Democratic Party, Donald Trump on Tuesday said that the Vermont senator should abandon his run for the Democratic nomination and instead seek an independent path to the White House.
"Bernie Sanders has been treated terribly by the Democrats both with delegates & otherwise," Trump tweeted. "He should show them, and run as an Independent!"
Sanders and his campaign have indicated that the senator, who was still listed as an independent on his Senate website as early as this month, will continue to be a Democrat in future elections.

Keep at it Trump. You may completely destroy the Democrat party and the Republican establishment in one election.
Got to give Trump credit for stirring the pot like this.
The man is an expert at messing with the opposition’s head.
I swear I would sit down and laugh myself silly if he did that.
It shows that Trump doesn’t believe his own propaganda that Sanders supporters will go to Trump rather than Hillary.

(Nick Bernabe via ANTIMEDIA) Denver, CO The 2016 election has been a wild ride, with two insurgent grassroots campaigns literally giving the political establishment a run for its money. But as the events of this presidential primary season play out, its becoming clear the U.S. election and even more so, the presidential race is a big scam being perpetrated on the American people.
Events from the last week have exposed the system as an illusion of choice and a farce. They have reinforced at least one study showing the U.S. is an oligarchy rather than a democratic republic.
The Wyoming democratic caucus took place on Saturday, purportedly to allow voters to have their voices heard in the race between Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton. Sanders lost the Wyoming caucus by winning it with a 12 percent margin.
Wait, what?
How does one lose by winning 56 percent of the votes? This happens when the political process is, according to the New York Post, rigged by superdelegates. The Post summed up this strange phenomenon:
[U]nder the Democratic Partys oddball delegate system, Sanders winning streak he has won seven out of the past eight contests counts for little.
In fact, despite his win, he splits Wyomings 14 pledged delegates 7 to 7 under the caucus calculus.
Clinton, meanwhile, also gets the states four superdelegates who had already pledged their allegiance to her in January. So despite losing, she triumphs 11-7 in the delegate tally”. (link)
Even media pundits on MSNBC openly called the process rigged:...

I would love to see him go to work on Congress and the rest of the corrupt government for 8 years!!!
Show the kind of judgment that would continue supporting Cruz after March 15, when it became clear he had no path to the nomination.
Your comment makes no sense. Please explain how Sanders run as an independent would hurt the country.
Works for me.
My clue is in the photo.
Maybe Sanders would be lucky to get 18% in the general election.
Trump is now using Sanders’ plight to warn the GOP-E about what he will do if he gets cheated.
I expect him to use the Reform Party structure.
It would be better if he could use the Libertarian, but they won’t go for it.
No, it suggests that the number who would split is greater than the number who would crossover. Which makes sense to me and probably would to you also if you would start viewing Trump as the intelligent man and strategic thinker that he is.
Bernie IS an Independent, he only caucuses with the RATs.
Sanders could not be on the ballot in Missouri because of the”sore loser” law. I am pretty sure many other states have this law also.
He’s a Communist and he should run as a Communist.
Their lead runner was set for an automated coronation will soon be Scooterized by the FBI (we hope). The second pony is an Independent, self-described socialist, who has only been in the Democrat Party for four months. Lil Debbie has driven the party into near-bankruptcy.
Before the November elections, we may have 5 candidates:
1-Trump - as a Republican - will be shunned in a Kadich-Cruz-fed open convention and run as an Independent.
2-Bernie - who is really an Independent and has only been a Democrat for four months - will run as an Independent once Lil Debbie gives him his walking papers, i.e. the super-duper delegates anoint Hillary,
3-The schizophrenic GOPe will finally find a next-old-fart-in-line and run him. Kasich is short on delegates and apparently short on Haldol and Lithium, and is too delusional to be the CoC. Lyin' Ted is working the f'd up system.
4-Hillary, the impeachable and inEVITAble, backed by whatever is left from the bankrupt Democrat Party, unless she is Scooterized by the FBI,
5-A rock-ribbed, yet totally unelectable conservative or pseudo-conservative, conceived in an out-of-wedlock affair in a formerly Republican smoky room in an upscale resort, who will have a welfare-to-work program for fired TSA workers hired as crotch-checkers at public restrooms.
Good tactic Trump.
I don’t think Trump meant to threaten the Republican party but if that’s the way they take it, so be it.
