COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — The slayings of eight family members in rural southern Ohio "was a pre-planned execution" and the investigation will be lengthy, the state's attorney general told reporters Sunday...
Authorities said it was clear that the Rhoden family was targeted, and Pike County Sheriff Charles Reader said he's told relatives to be armed.
Reader said he did not believe there was a safety issue for other residents. But "If you are fearful, arm yourself," he said.
Authorities have been scrambling to determine who targeted the clan and why. Investigators have interviewed between 50 and 60 people in hopes of finding leads, and a team 38 people is combing wooded areas around the shooting scenes to ensure no evidence was missed, Reader said.
Authorities found marijuana-growing operations at three of the four locations of the shootings, but neither DeWine nor Reader elaborated on what, if any, role they had in the deaths.
Reader said in his 20 years in law enforcement, he never interacted with the family "in a criminal nature."
"This was very methodical. This was well planned. This was not something that just happened," said Reader, saying most victims were targeted while they were sleeping.

Just thinking. I find it somewhat interesting, maybe a coincidence, that four days after a baby is born, the mother is murdered. Just wondering if maybe the family didn’t strong arm the bio dad to stay away from mother and baby. I know they are keeping everything very quiet, but there isn’t any mention of the dad, he obviously wasn’t with her or he would have been killed also.
Maryland has very rich farm land, the main crop used to be tabacoo, recently the state has started looking at having pot farms in Maryland and how to secure the crops.
Some odd stuff though. It’s not harvest season, not even growing season, not even planting season. Unless it’s all inside hydroponic. Why now?

Any info at all as to how big this grow operation was? I mean it could be a couple dozen plants or several hundred, makes a big difference. Strange the family has never been in trouble with the law over the last 20 years and then all murdered??Something is missing in this story.
The MEXICAN angle means that for electoral reasons the GummintMedia Complex is going to try to keep this one sorta quiet.
Hopefully we’ll find out but slaughtering a whole generation of an entire family stinks like SOTB (South of the Border).
