Oh, and he ruined Ted Cruz’ career, in case you care about such things.

Sen Cruz was despised before, not sure what comes after the Roe Treatment, unless he gets his ass kicked out of the Senate.

Remember where you heard it.

It is not a particularly creative poster, which is why I rarely reply to it. I can find such nonsense on my own.

“when his name [Manafort] was put forward to “manage” the 2008 GOP Convention, John McCain said “not no but hell no.“

Makes sense. The presence of a winner made McCain shit his pants.

After watching McCain's campaign, which I donated to, I believe that he intended all along to get Obama elected.

Maybe their goals and mindset are not all that different.

(Can’t reply to the OP as his comment was nuked, so this reply isn’t directed specifically to you)

Before judging this situation, it is useful to go here...

http://www.kansascity.com/news/politics-government/article16663127.html

...and in particular, to listen to the actual radio ad which was said to contribute to this person’s suicide.

The link to the ad is at the site.

While I won’t say that the ad was the cause (in full or in part) of this person’s suicide, it IS a demonstration of the sleaziness of Jeff Roe, and that sleaziness reflects back on Ted Cruz who hired him to run his campaign.

Just heard the commercial and it was about as rotten as I expected.

I’m sure an activist such as Manafort has produced commercials just like this for his candidate. Altura is an authority on his background, evidently.

I’m sure the Altura is getting ready to post those damning commercials.

Should I wait for them?

Andy, you might want to check out my post about the sterling character Trump has just hired.

Manafort was hired to get Trump's own delegate "ground game" going. In choosing someone Trump was in a tough spot:

* He does not know this stuff well himself as a political novist.
* Many career election people were pressuring others not to work for Trump.
* He needed somebody very competent with a good track record of success.

So maybe its not surprising he hired a guy who had been shunned by the insiders. In Manafort's case of course he was shunned for working for the likes of Victor Yanukovych against the "Orange Revolution". Ironically, he is now working for an orange candidate, what a mercenary the guy is!

Was there a moral failing on Trump's part here like the one I think Cruz had in hiring a slime throwing expert? I don't think so, because Trump is hiring him as a defense in a slimy aspect of politics he is a late comer too, not to bring the campaign to a new low.

I thought the trumpers were supremely confident.

I think most of us are, after all, he's going to be President, and in a landslide.

But, it is fun though to knock the mud off our shoes by kicking a guy who is down from time to time. After all, he's been a real prick.

It is not nice to make fun of someone’s appearance or rile up the anti semitic crowd. But sorry there is something more to this than a few political slurs. Perhaps a history of depression or bi polar. If you are looking for psychological safe spaces politics is not the arena to find them.

Catherine Hanaway has very poor hiring practices and apparently so does Ted Cruz. I don’t want either of them in an executive position.

Guilt by association? You mean like when the Cruzers tried to tie Trump to the NE story on Cruz? Or blaming Trump for editorials by Roger Stone? Or sleazing up his campaign manager for the fake Fields incident?

Roe has firmly rejected any responsibility for the suicide and police have not in any way assigned him with legal culpability for Schweich's death.

Schweich, a Republican candidate for governor, killed himself on February 26 at his home in Clayton, St Louis.

A year ago, Roe was working for Catherine Hanaway, who was Schweich's leading primary opponent.

The race quickly turned ugly when one of Hanaway's supporters, John Hancock, started telling people Schweich was Jewish.

He was in fact Episcopalian, though of Jewish ancestry.

Not Cruz, the man he hired to lead his campaign, Jeff Roe
