Trump: I Want to Bring Rubio Into Campaign
Newsmax ^ | 4/21/16 | Greg Richter

GOP front-runner Donald Trump says he'd like to bring Florida Sen. Marco Rubio into his campaign as part of his effort to unify the party.

Trump already has the support of two of his vanquished foes: New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson.

"Frankly, Marco I'd love to have involved," Trump said Thursday on Fox News Channel's "Hannity."

"This party has to unite," Trump said. "Then you're going to have the House and Senate."
Rubio dropped out of the race after losing his home state of Florida, but has yet to endorse anyone.

Trump also responded to criticism over comments he made earlier Thursday about North Carolina's law limiting transgendered people to using restrooms of the gender on their birth certificates. Commenting on backlash from businesses, other state governments and musicians to the law, Trump said people should be allowed to use the restroom of their choice.

"It's a small number, but we have to take care of everybody," he told Fox's Sean Hannity.

Good. Bringing everybody but Cruz into his camp will help him demonstrate unity within the GOP which will be essential to defeating the Hildabeast. It will also help to utterly destroy Cruz so that he won't be qualified to be a dog catcher in the future. [From a former Cruz supporter who lost all interest in him after his Chicago riots response]

You were wondering about a retraction...

Does anybody advise Trump? Or does he advise his advisors?

"This party has to unite," Trump said. "Then you're going to have the House and Senate."

Not going to happen.

When you're the smartest guy in the universe you don't need advisors.

Doesn’t hurt that Rubio brings along the necessary delegates to put Trump over the top. But I don’t see that anchor baby providing much more.

Bad move. Roofio is a creepy, lying weasel and puppet of the party establishment.

When you are dealing with the smartest and richest man in the room, it is a little hard to give much more than a sycophant’s nod from time to time.

A real adviser would be able to present practical reasons for altering course, and be able to express the real dangers of failure to correct growing mistakes.

Actually, the suggestion that The Donald join up with Marco Rubio is an excellent one, for many reasons. For one thing, Rubio has more pledged delegates than Kasich, and for what it is worth, could affect the Hispanic vote at least as much as Ted Cruz, as a VP running mate. It would also free up Ted Cruz to be a nominee to the Supreme Court, to replace the sorely missed Antonin Scalia. Perhaps this move would help heal the rift with the Republican National Committee, or perhaps not, because like the Bourbons of France, the Republican Establishment forgets nothing, and learns nothing. And it puts Rubio in the position where he could possibly learn a little something about how to actually govern.

Trump campaign continues to implode.

It’s been said that the only person who can destroy Donald Trump is Donald Trump.

He’s off to a good start given the events of the last couple of days.

On a scale of creepy Rubio is a six, Cruz is a 10.

It will be interesting to see if Rubio falls for this. After his repeated assertions that he would only support the ‘most conservative candidate left in the race’ last week, we shall see if he considers Trump to be conservative. He certainly didn’t indicate that before...

This will tell me much about Rubio’s character.

I thought the smartest guy in the universe was already in the White Hut.

Depends on which you ask. Both are world-class narcissists so each probably believes he'd the smartest. And their true believers agree with them.

Fortunately, the primary voters think better of our greatest Conservative Senator, as opposed to that creepy punk from Florida.

If anything Trump has cojones. He smears, demagogues, demonizes, mocks,
Marco Rubio and then extend an olive branch to him, that tells me he must need his delegates...

The man has no shame...

Donald Trump has apparently been “destroying” Donald Trump since the day he announced his candidacy last June.

Reminds me of that old sit-com where Fred Sanford would clutch his chest at least once an episode and say “this is the Big One, this is really the Big One” to canned laughter.

You anti-Trump guys should get your own sit-com.

Also doesn't hurt that Rubio is actively helping Cruz lock up delegates. Rubio is helping in Arkansas and Minnesota.

Weeks ago, it seems like an eternity, I visualized Trump and Cruz coming together to coalesce the power required to prevail.

After the wives controversies, I realized that was not possible. The effort with a jobless Rubio and even Kasich, will accomplish the same purpose.

Make deals. Every body benefits. Win the day. Consolidate the power.
