Transgender people should be able to use whatever bathroom they want, Donald Trump said Thursday.
"Oh, I had a feeling that question was going to come up, I will tell you. North Carolina did something that was very strong. And they're paying a big price. There's a lot of problems," the Republican presidential candidate said during a town hall event on NBC's "Today."
Referring to comments from an unnamed commentator who on Wednesday said North Carolina should "leave it the way it is right now," Trump said he agreed.
"Leave it the way it is. North Carolina, what they're going through with all the business that's leaving, all of the strife -- and this is on both sides. Leave it the way it is," he said, referring to companies that have canceled plans to move or expand businesses in the state as a result of the law, which bans transgender individuals from using a bathroom that does not match their gender at birth.
"There have been very few complaints the way it is. People go. They use the bathroom that they feel is appropriate," Trump said. "There has been so little trouble. And the problem with what happened in North Carolina is the strife and the economic -- I mean, the economic punishment that they're taking."
Matt Lauer then asked whether Trump has any transgender people working for his company.
"I really don't know. I probably do. I really don't know," Trump said, answering that he would allow, say, transgender celebrity Caitlyn Jenner to use whatever bathroom she wanted at Trump Tower.

Leave potty time to the locals
Leave it the way it is. Men use men’s bathrooms, women use women’s bathrooms. If a pervert is caught in a women’s bathroom then charge them as they do now.

That’s not what Trump supports. Trump supports letting men use women’s restrooms. He says to not so so is discriminatory.
Potty picking, homosexuals pretending they can be married, and similar whacky issues should be left to the states.
If a state chooses to NOT allow people to pick a bathroom based on their troubled minds, but only on their genitalia, then they should pay that price. I suspect that states who stand up to the LGBTABCDEFG (or whatever they are now) bullies, will attract more decent, down-to-earth, traditional people, business, etc., and will prosper.
It can be a great competition between states and may the best ideology win!
If you didn’t wake up to the fact Trump doesn’t share 90% of your values by now, this might actually be the position/comment that does it.
Yeah, I love his secure borders and good trade deal stuff. But in the end, he’s 90% NY liberal. His lack of understanding on this issue proves too much.

Perhaps your right, but that is not the point. It is an alarming indicator as to his values. The president holds the bully pulpit. The president wields enormous influence in shaping social policy.

Find the demand to unify behind Trump (when he’s not yet the nominee) mystifying, particularly as the same advocates at best held their noses and voted for McRINO and Mittens the last two cycles (or just stayed home).
For some reason, we’re supposed to turn a blind eye to some fundamental flaws now and get with the program before he’s won the nomination.
No doubt we’ll be told to shut up and like it if Trump picks Kasich or some other liberal as his running mate too.
What gives?
