Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump on Thursday came out against removing former President Andrew Jackson from the front of the $20 bill, saying "pure political correctness" is behind the move. "Andrew Jackson had a great history and I think it's very rough when you take somebody off the bill," Trump said during a town hall interview on NBC's "Today" show.

My feeling why change for the sake of change?

Does removing DEWM from our currency make America more inclusive?

I’m sick of it.

well...I disagree. I think Harriet Tubman is a great American heroine and Andrew Jackson was a horrible and detestable man.

And take William McKinley off of it?

Removing Jackson is fine. It was an inside slight towards to the man to put him on a Federal Reserve Note anyway since he was such an opponent to a national bank.

And Tubman is a good choice. In fact, we should be changing the notes more frequently, not once every 90 years. I would say to keep Washington on the $1 note, but everyone else is changeable.

In 1814 when we had to kick the Brits out for the second time Jackson was our Huckleberry. Read a history book sometime.

I have a degree in history and Jackson's meaningless battle at New Orleans, no matter how triumphant the outcome, does nothing to remove the stains on his name. Those stain were self inflicted and the result of psychotic hatred for American Indians. His treatment of the Seminole and Cherokee people would be considered genocide today.

I'm no bleeding heart but Jackson is an historical embarrassment.

Nothing against Harriet Tubman; she was a great woman.

But why do we have to be politically correct?

I am distantly related to Andrew Jackson and many of my ancestors have Andrew Jackson in their name. I do not like the political tyrant taking away my heritage in favor of any unknown person.

Of course it is!

Tubman isn’t even significant enough to be covered in US history, much less important enough to be placed on our currency along side the founders and greatest americans that ever lived.

The fact is, if Tubman were not black, you wouldn’t even know she existed. She was just one of many “conductors” in the underground railroad. She didn’t create the railroad and honestly on a historical scale the railroad was about as important as the driver of JFK’s car the day he died.

Andrew Jackson had his flaws, but he was a great patriot and champion of the average American against the elites of his day. For that, and his unquestionable wartime service he deserves to be honored.

The average church lady has just as interesting a story as Harriet Tubman, and has contributed as much to US history.

Yes, Tubman has an interesting story.

But I am sure the boy who tended Ghenghis Khan horses did too!

“Note to Trump: So is letting men pee in the women’s restroom.”

Yep. And that is the one problem with his answer. Hard to turn the tide on PC when you cave to their pressure.

They just have to change it to be Politically Correct.

Of course it must be a black woman, no other choices considered.

Being an American hero does not count.

It is the liberal way.

Because progressives demand change for the sake of change. It's one of their ways of forcing everybody else to grovel before them. Progressives are totalitarian. They want power over everyone and everything, and it's both personal and societal. They want YOU PERSONALLY to grovel and lick their boots. NOBODY escapes.
