A little while back we told you about how the CEO of Hardees/Carl’s Jr. was thinking about replacing employees with machines thanks to the ridiculous minimum wage hike to $15.
Well, it appears he has done it.
It was only a matter of time before this started to happen and you can expect to see more of this in the future.
However many employee dollar hours were dedicated to order taking and distribution are now being paid to a machine. I imagine that frees up at least one worker per part-time shift.
Frankly, I like this idea. If the choices and options allow for custom alterations as to condiments, I’d say this is a winner.
They have had them in Wawa and Royal Farms for a long while. Not sure if the really replace personnel but I’m sure they make it easier to get the order right.
I’m sure that in a year or so President Sanders will be shipping him off to a re-education camp to get his mind right.
How much do the kiosks get paid per hour?
Sheetz has had them for years.

Not to mention the fact the machine actually understands English....
My guess is that each one costs at least a year’s wages. Afterwards, if they replace one worker, then they are profit.
McDonalds is also testing them in some locations.
They will get your order right, won’t act like they don’t care you are there, and give you the right change when you insert a $20 bill.
And won’t ask for days off, complain about a “living wage”, show up late, bitch about the other employees, etc, etc, etc.
And...they don’t spit on your food!!!
When machines actually handle and prepare the food, then I’ll be a regular customer again.
Too many stories of malcontents contaminating the food, either intentionally or unintentionally, drove me away.
Any restaurants that deliver and have online ordering are a short step away from automating ordering in their restaurants.
It is becoming pretty common for breweries to have area restaurants deliver to their taproom. Win/win. Restaurant sells food w/ one delivery guy and brewery sells beer.
If you are in an industry that is not being disrupted, it is likely that you are not aware of the disruption afoot or that you should become the disruptor.
The liberals, though, will then win an election and simply give the $15 an hour to the guy sitting at home now playing his video games. And food stamps, and healthcare, and obamaphone, and utility help, and soon...I’m certain...a car.
The only way to win against liberalism/socialism is to get rid of it.
Seriously, anybody with more than two brain cells knew this was going to happen, but the liberals don't like to be proven wrong. I'm guessing their next thing will be an attempt to "fine" or put an "automation tax" on every self-service kiosk at any business who goes this route.
Yes Sir.....always that big plus up. I don’t have to learn bastardized Spanglish.
Sheetz has been doing this for a couple of years. I actually like the system better.

Hardly. The cost will be less than a months wages for the average employee. Computers are cheap.
