Trump strategist Roger Stone tells NJ 101.5 radio that even if Donald Trump wins a majority of pledged delegates to the Republican convention, Cruz will utilize "Trojan horse" delegates (who are bound to vote for Trump only on the first RNC nomination ballot) to vote on "procedural" matters in the Rules Committee or Credentials committee to block or disallow certain votes.
ROGER STONE: Unfortunately just because Donald Trump gets the 1,237 [delegates needed to win], doesn't mean we aren't going to have a brokered convention. My sources, who are pretty good in the Republican Party, indicate to me that Ted Cruz intends to work a "rules strategy" to try to euchre this nomination away from Donald Trump.
In kind of a shady, using political trickery and so on, utilizing these Trojan Delegates we have been talking about -- Where Trump delegates, from the results of the primary -- those seats are filled with non-Trump voters, non-Trump supporters who will vote against Trump on procedural issues in either rules or credentials that could be used to take away his majority.

The other part of the equation is that Trump has to learn to moderate himself better. Looks like he is starting to do that. Let's hope.
I do not want Trump to ‘moderate” himself. Isn’t that what pisses us off about politicians?
Keep telling it like it is, Donald.
I think Stone is just putting this stuff out to let the Cruz campaign know that he knows all the possible tricks that could be played so they can’t pull a fast one.
I heard a pundit make the point that if Cruz had been a better strategist he would never have publicly stated his picking off the delegates strategy. He should have shut his mouth until he got to the convention and surprise Trump then.
Never let the opposition know what you are doing, unless you want them to know what your are doing.
Cruz and Jeff Roe are meeting with the RNC rules committee that makes proposals to present to the actual rules committee right now, as we speak/type.
It’s on the agenda.
The phrase of the day is “Pyrrhic Victory.”
Don’t do it, Ted. You will elect Hillary for sure.
If Trump does not win on the First or 2nd ballot NOBODY will win. The only reason he would not is #neverTrump which is really pissing off one hell of a lot of Americans as its a clear example of what we have been fighting in DC. So For Trump to lose WILL fracture the base and NOBODY has a path to the white house then, Not No swing-state Cruz not, Jeb, Not Rubio, not Kaish, etc.
Its either Trump or Lose the election, the court and down ticket. Time to support the Popular guy who brings in new blood. Anything else is just stupid.
I’m all for Trump telling it like it is. But he can certainly do that without making stupid-a$$ comments. At a minimum, someone needs to screen his Twitter posts.

And this exactly why Cruz will become even more disliked. Not a good trick to try but we’ll see what he does.
“If Trumps team put as much effort into WINNING delegates, instead of WHINING about Cruz, he might actually have a first ballot chance.”
They have. That’s why Trump is winning.
Except, the only reason there would be a second ballot was if Donald hasn’t won the first. So you claiming that a second ballot victory is kind of misinformation.
cruz’ relationship with truth is as tenuous as clinton’s.
he has destroyed himself politically, and shown himself to be a rather despicable human.
he is clearly melting down, and his sanctimonious bs is becoming obvious to all.
at the same time, trump is actually cleaning his act up. he referred to cruz as “senator” in an interview yesterday, and apoears to be acting more like a presumptive nominee.
i started as a cruz supporter, now i am enjoying watching him self destruct.
Trump’s “stupid ass comments” are why hes in the media so much more than any of the others. Seeing as none of them have hurt him consider it could very well be part of his strategy.
Disagree. I was watching CNN last night and it was funny. They kept pissing and moaning that Donald was still using “lying Ted” and “crooked Hillary”. They all felt he should “act presidential”, whatever that is. In the process of of complaining about this, the terms mentioned above were repeated about a dozen times.
It’s a strategy and it works.
Let’s not knock Al Gore. He is the the smart/lucky one.
Gore has had no hassle of the POTUS office.
Al’s a gazillionaire with a loyal herd of global air worshippers. He has a very light speaking engagement schedule. I’m sure he’s tickled pink.
Trump has spies at the meeting and the details of any presentation will be in the news ASAP.
The phrase of the day is Pyrrhic Victory.
Dont do it, Ted. You will elect Hillary for sure.

Sadly, it seems not only will Cruz do this but then his camp will blame Trump for the loss to Hillary. They are already trying that because not one of his hardcore supporters can admit Cruz is not well-liked and the public isn’t buying what he’s selling. Seems some would rather lose to Hillary first.
Okay, how do they stop him? He knows all of the tricks-
If this is the plan to stop Trump, I only have one thing to say:
“Go ahead, make my day.”

That’s your interpretation. Personally, I think if he handled himself better, he’d have had the nomination locked up last month.
Being from MA, I’ve already heard this, they’re going to use rule 16 to disqualify Trump’s MA delegates.
Since even the Trump delegates are stacked with Cruz/GOP supporters, the rules will be written so Trump can’t win.
It’s rigged.
