Its primary day in New York and as many voters scramble to cast their ballots before, during, and after work, some are also running into unfortunate circumstances.
Its not often that New Yorkers votes are pivotal in a presidential primary and many at polling places across the state are determined to make theirs count....
At one polling site at Carlton Avenue and Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn, the site coordinator didnt even bother to show up and it took about an hour-and-a-half to find a replacement so the poll could open.
Television and radio contributor John Burnett took to Twitter to voice his complaints, saying that in Harlem he was told there were no GOP ballots available. He said he was told hed have to wait for delivery.
Other voters said they were plagued by registry issues. One woman said if your last name was at the end of the alphabet at her polling site in Windsor Terrace, you had to vote affidavit.
The office for Attorney General Eric Schneiderman said it received 562 phone calls and 140 emails with complaints between the hours of 6 a.m. and 3:50 p.m. The attorney general said it is the largest volume of complaints they have received for a general election since taking office in 2011. The office said they only received 150 complaints in the 2012 general election...
WCBS 880s Alex Silverman was also among those who had a less-than-ideal voting experience Tuesday morning.
In Hells Kitchen on the west side of Manhattan, everything was going smoothly for Silverman until he saw a piece of cardboard on top of the scanner and realized there was a problem. He was told the electricians are on their way.
When the machines arent working, you slide your ballot into a box underneath the scanner.

If Trump doesn’t get 50+ or sweep almost all the delegates we will know why.
Because no one in Harlem has voted for a GOP candidate since the 1930’s....
The GOP can sure handle an in depth process of delegate switching, but somehow can’t run a simple ballot process.
Four voters for Cruz this morning in NYC.
One of the poll workers tried to dirty trick me and say that the location was for democrats only! I quickly went back to the poll ( after having visited an alternate polling location) and voted.
Another New York value...incompetence.
GOP? Who’s that?
They figured Cruz was going to take a bath in New York, so why help.
The “establishment elites” are hard at work in New York....
On FOX as I was flicking through channels I saw Doocy go into a voting station and ask the person in charge can non party vote in a republican election. She replied no.
He then asked can those in the conservative party vote in a republican election and she stood there. Then she said I don’t know.
This was the woman in charge for crying out loud.
Anyone else see this?
GOP too busy paying off delegates and bribing them right now to be bothered to give ballots out.
lol. Shocked that the guy didn’t show up without calling.
they’re usually so dependable out there.
The primary Cruz value is doubling down on stupid.
Sounds like the perfect setup for a Whine and Cheezy party.
With no evidence, other than a possible outcome, claim cheating.
It’s a conspiracy against Trump? Is it a conspiracy against Republicans in general? Or is it a media charade?
Where is Dan Rather when you need him?
5.56mm
You would have thought they could have had at least 10 on hand just in case the GOP turnout was 100% in Harlem.
Where there is smoke there is fire.
Cruz should win with voters not able to vote. I bet he has a smile on his face.
Come on. You know Cruz wins when voters aren’t allowed to vote. Not sure why you don’t wear that with pride. Cruz does.
Don’t blame corruption for what can be blamed on incompetence.
In an eastern-european style nanny-state like NY, personal and even organizational responsibility, particularly for government workers, is low. They just don’t give a flying fig. The only thing that matters is their own position, convenience and pleasure.
