Donald Trump supporters walked out of a delegate election in Georgia Saturday to protest a vote that robbed Trump of all of his slated delegates from a district that he won in the primary.
A Cruz-Rubio alliance at the district convention in Buford, Georgia helped to knock Trump supporters out of the districts national delegation altogether. Cruz supporters implied that Trumps people would embarrass the district at the convention in Cleveland. Then things got heated.
This morning, I attended Georgia 7th Congressional District GOP convention as a delegate and a Donald Trump supporter. We were there to elect the 3 delegates and 3 alternates to the national convention, Ronnie Kurtz told Breitbart News. Per the primary results, two slots were for Trump, and one was for Rubio. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)97% Cruz finished third in the primary and had no delegates allotted to him Nonetheless, the hall was stacked with Cruz delegates.
On the first ballot, the party voted on a delegate slate that would have taken away one of Trumps delegates but would have, at least, still given him one representative. That bloc would have given Trump supporter Debbie Dooley one of the slots and a Cruz supporter named Carolyn Fisher another slot, with a Rubio slot going to local party convention chairman BJ Van Gundy. But Cruz supporters voted down that slate.

“They’re bound for Trump.”
Not looking like it.
Point of the thread is: just down the road from me, they’re conspiring to NOT vote for Trump, despite the region & state voting Trump by a landslide.
I have this radical idea of fairness...if you win a delegate slot, you get to put somebody loyal to you in it...just an idea, because it did not say "Cruz supporting delegate who has to vote Trump on first ballot" next to the check box the voters voted on, it said "Donald Trump".
The question is will it be the voters or the vote counters who win?
As I understood it the applying delegates in my district were not even asked who they supported by the nominating committee, only that the person they picked would both support the candidate they were bound to in the first round, and that they would support the eventual GOP nominee in November. But of course, this didn’t sit well with Trump delegatewannabes since they have pretty much said they would walk if Trump was not the nominee in Nov. Just like Trump, they want to write their own “rules” and to heck with any system that has pretty much worked for the last contested conventions. In fact, we got Abe Lincoln and a few others with this system and those were not system failures.
Six million plus voted for Cruz.
That “only four states where people vote” is a pathetic talking point, nothing more.
>> You say people who support Trump are a cult
I didn’t say ALL people who support trump are a cult.
But within Free Republic there is most definitely a worship cult thing happenin’.
no answer then.
I’m here in FL and there is no interest in cruz. I am not saying that because I did not vote for him , but I am saying this based on what I see.
I understand that time might heal and people will vote, but I don’t expect me to trust me on this , but Clinton will win here in FL if cruz runs.
Thank you for giving an answer and no insults.
but it is not a talking point, but it is a fact which you keep ignoring.
Cruz will not take the swing states of VA, FL, people are not voting for him and they have non interest in him, This is not a dig at him or you, but you seem intent of not understanding you support a guy who people do not want.
Cruz/GOPe are power hungry and at odds with the voters. How can you support this?
That's the way it is...They could stop all primary elections and caucuses from here on out and still come up with the same result...
In Wyoming there was no vote again...Another inside job took place...
And I just read they are going to have a primary in Colorado, with everyone from Congress on down...
Why is this not in Breaking News/Front Page?
my question too.
The establishment are getting defenders for their corruption.
You bet. It’s supposed to be an election, not a selection.
Here’s a firsthand report of someone that was there and the “story” is, as usual, full of Trump LIES.
“It also stated that ALL the Trump delegates got up and left. ..there were Trumpers all around me and they stayed. I only saw Debbie and 4 others leave. Please get your story straight.”
>> Cruz/GOPe are power hungry and at odds with the voters. How can you support this?
Study up on the “straw man” logical fallacy.
Please provide a detailed report. Leave out any anti-Trump, pro-Cruz bias.
Hold the phone! People get to vote for delegates at state conventions? You wouldn't know that after hearing all the whining about Colorado and Wyoming.
This is good news. This is one more Trump delegate that won't be supporting the GOPe candidate on the second ballot.
