Trump Supporters Walk Out of Georgia Delegate Fight After Party Picks Cruz Supporter...
Breitbart ^ | April 16, 2016 | Patrick Howley

Posted on 04/16/2016 5:51:19 PM PDT by bobsunshine

Donald Trump supporters walked out of a delegate election in Georgia Saturday to protest a vote that robbed Trump of all of his slated delegates from a district that he won in the primary.

A Cruz-Rubio alliance at the district convention in Buford, Georgia helped to knock Trump supporters out of the district’s national delegation altogether. Cruz supporters implied that Trump’s people would “embarrass” the district at the convention in Cleveland. Then things got heated.

“This morning, I attended Georgia 7th Congressional District GOP convention as a delegate and a Donald Trump supporter. We were there to elect the 3 delegates and 3 alternates to the national convention,” Ronnie Kurtz told Breitbart News. “Per the primary results, two slots were for Trump, and one was for Rubio. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)97% Cruz finished third in the primary and had no delegates allotted to him…Nonetheless, the hall was stacked with Cruz delegates.”

On the first ballot, the party voted on a delegate slate that would have taken away one of Trump’s delegates but would have, at least, still given him one representative. That bloc would have given Trump supporter Debbie Dooley one of the slots and a Cruz supporter named Carolyn Fisher another slot, with a Rubio slot going to local party convention chairman BJ Van Gundy. But Cruz supporters voted down that slate.

you are aware that these delegates can be bought off right and it is not even illegal.

Is it possible to be "aware" of something that isn't true? Interesting thought-exercise.

The thing of which some folks are unaware is that while there may be no federal law against it, there is actually an Ohio law against it. And the convention is in Cleveland so...it is indeed illegal.

...we have a guy running who, up to date, hasn’t won a majority in any state. He can’t organize well enough to keep dedicated delegates on the slate for the convention...
——————————————————————————————So what kind of a candidate do you prefer? A lying, cheating, politically savvy player, who knows how to play the game, and doesn’t care who gets in his/her way?
Fine. You should be an Obama supporter. He sounds like just your speed. He’d never let himself be outmaneuvered by political operatives. Community organizers must be your favorite candidates. I prefer to go with the voters.

People died and risked their lives to give us a country to give us freedom and the right to vote , and now we see that we don’t have that , thus those people died in vain.

Sickening and even worse is people defend this corruption.

So when the Cruz and Rubio supporters unite as they have every right to do at these conventions, they significantly outnumber the Trump supporters, and so elect the delegates of their choice.

The Trump campaign had equal access to the Rubio supporters and could've recruited them to their side. But they chose not to. Ergo, there is no basis for a complaint. There will be whining, nonetheless...

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.

Voting for yet another ivy league lawyer who became an elected official who has not even finished his first term is insanity,

Are you talking about what happened in Georgia? Because as I've already pointed out, Trump had a much smaller percentage of the vote that did Cruz and Rubio combined, so he really doesn't have cause to complain.

And if you're not talking about Georgia, then...why are you in this thread?

Maybe Trump will learn that insulting people isn't a really good way to build political alliances. Until then, I'm happy to see other candidates and their supporters uniting against the guy who dragged the discourse into the mud.

I put money on the DC political class convincing people otherwise.
I am appalled at the petulance being shown by the Cruz campaign. They are acting childish to cause mischief

Just told you I was not on about GA and I told you I should be more clear and concise for you in the future.

Why would you ask a question I have given you the answer for?

Yes these shenanigans by Cruz are !oser level hail Mary antics which will not alter the outcome of the first ballot. Trump will win on the first ballot.

I hope you’re right, but every week I hear how Cruz is stealing the delegates right out from under Trump, and how many “unbound” delegates are being steered to Cruz by the NeverTrump GOPe. All Trump has are voters. The party bosses are allowed by their own crooked rules to throw out the voter’s choices and install their own delegates.

so you support a guy knowing the voters don’t want him and knowing he would lose to Clinton.

You are against a guy because he insulted your guy and others?

Good grief, no wonder we as a country are going down the drain.

You should not post your opinion. You are not qualified to have one. Just a helpful hint from a concerned citizen.

>> Do you support him just based on you are from TX or live in TX?

No.

>> If he was from MA would you still vote for this guy>?

In the unlikely event that Christian conservative Ted Cruz came out of Taxachusetts, yes.

Mostly agree up to the so far part. Electoral college votes can be split and “faithless” electors have existed in the past.

Next point about “people vote”. Is either a lie or willful ignorance. In Iowa for example the people voted after listening to speeches. It was still a vote. In Kansas voters could bypass the listen to speeches part and just vote. Rather than go through the whole list I’ll leave you to look into it.

Florida is super important. I was disappointed that Cruz didn’t make an effort. Though I’m sure it was done in hopes that Rubio would perform better it was nevertheless unfortunate. There is time between now and November to remedy that mistake.

There is, according to polling a good chance that Cruz pulls in Wisconsin as well as most of the swing states if he’s running against Clinton.
