Better yet, just have your employer send your paycheck to the IRS and the IRS can pass on to you what they think you deserve.

Fake Injun Sqwaw must not pay any taxes (maybe Injun sqwaws are exempt, being citizens of Injun tribes???)
how in Hell does she imagine the govt can fill out your taxes for you, when the govt doesn’t know what data to enter for any of your possible expenses, deductions, allowances, credits, or whatever the hell you may have to enter
(ps: there are free tax filing services all over the place, too... check your local high school, college, or library)

then we can get rid of folks making those pesky deductions for charities and the charities can become state supported just like that ought to be supported.

If it is, and remains, an option - maybe so. It WOULD bring in more revenue, as the IRS would have no incentive to save you money.

This goes a step further than the old 1040 "joke":
1. How much did you earn last year?
2. Send it all in.

Why doesn’t Fauxahontas try it out on herself first? She’s one of those privileged elite— would never effect her if such rules were implemented.

I thought this had been the standard practice for years now. Many are too confused with numbers to prepare their own returns; so they feel compelled to hire it out.

What's wrong with it being a choice? I'd still have the opportunity to correct errors.
My return is complicated enough so that I'm best off having a third party do it, and it isn't cheap. Very rarely does the tax preparer not make an error. The government corrects it because everything is on file.
Free tax preparation, not worry about an audit? That works.
